The story kicked off with the flagship series on Paramount+, which focuses on how the Duttons defended their Montana ranch from several threats land developers, the nearby Broken Rock Indian Reservation, and government interference.

However, his children, Beth and Kayce, ultimately sold the ranch to the original owners but will forever stay connected to the place.
Following the success of the show, Taylor Sheridan blessed fans with more about the Duttons through spin-off shows. Recently, the prequel 1923 ended after Season 2, in which the family faced some of the worst conditions and endured losses to keep the ranch safe.

How many Yellowstone spin-offs are there? Exploring confirmed and upcoming series

As previously stated, Yellowstone has turned into a hit TV series, drawing in viewers with its gripping storylines, intricate characters, and stunning scenery. But the popularity of the Dutton family and the world they live in has inspired more than one show.
It has grown over time into a world of its own with various spin-offs going deeper into the lives of new and established characters. From prequels to spin-offs involving other generations, these programs delve into untold stories.
In this article, we’ll take a look at how many Yellowstone spin-offs are out there, including those already confirmed and the upcoming series we can expect to see in the future.
1) The Madison
The Madison is an upcoming Yellowstone spin-off that shifts the focus from the Dutton family to a new set of characters navigating life in the Madison River Valley, Montana. It follows Stacy Clyburn (played by Michelle Pfeiffer), a woman who relocates her family from New York City after the tragic deaths of her husband and brother-in-law in a plane crash.
While Pfeiffer has secured the main character, The Madison is incomplete without other cast members, including Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, Matthew Fox, Beau Garrett, and more. As of now, there's no exact release date for this spin-off, but it's expected to come out late this year or early in 2026.

2) Beth & Rip spin-off series

Another spin-off under the Yellowstone-verse is the untitled Beth & Rip series, featuring Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser reprising their roles as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler. Set in Dillon, Montana, the series will track Beth and Rip as they start anew on a 7,000-acre ranch, giving up the Dutton family ranch.
The show will delve into their changing relationship, with closer attention to Beth's emotional development and Rip's shift from being a ranch hand to a ranch owner. It will also explore the difficulties they encounter in living their new ranch life away from the Dutton legacy.
Recurring stars Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser will again play Beth and Rip, and Finn Little will again play Carter, their adopted son. One of the biggest additions to the ensemble will be a new character, who may be the replacement for the space left by John Dutton's passing in Yellowstone Season 5.
The series is looking specifically for a "Kevin Costner-type" actor for this part, although Costner himself won't be turning up due to his own character's exit. As for a release date, Paramount+ hasn't confirmed it yet, but we might have this Beth & Rip spin-off around this year's Christmas.
3) 1944

The Dutton family saga continues with the 1944 prequel series, which will take viewers back to the time of World War II. This series takes place about two decades after the events of 1923 and around 15 years before the birth of John Dutton III, the protagonist of Yellowstone.
While the exact plot remains under wraps, it's expected that this spin-off will explore historical events like the D-Day invasion and more. Spencer Dutton, the character introduced in 1923 and played by Brandon Sklenar, will be the primary focus of 1944.
His son, John Dutton II, who is the father of John Dutton III (Kevin Costner’s character in Yellowstone), will also be a key character, likely portrayed as a young adult. As for the release date, fans can expect this spin-off to come out next year.
4) 6666

The 6666 spinoff shifts the focus to the Four Sixes Ranch in Guthrie, Texas, with its cowboy heritage. The show will delve into the tough lives of cowboys rearing world-class cattle, merging human law and nature's adversity.
The storyline is likely to center on Jimmy Hurdstorm, who resumes his cowboy adventure at the Four Sixes with Emily, a vet tech. Teeter, a Yellowstone cast member is also likely to be part of the show, along with other familiar characters.
Production has been postponed because of the 2023 writers' and actors' strikes and the necessity to respect the ranch's heritage. The show, originally scheduled for 2023, is now likely to debut in 2025 or beyond.
The series will premiere on Paramount Network before streaming on platforms such as Paramount+. Fans are looking forward to more news as production resumes.
