Since her audition on American Idol Season 23, Mattie Pruitt has been a popular artist on the reality show. From her audition to the most recent Top 10 selection, 5-year-old Eagleville native has come a long way. Viewers must already know that Mattie is a high school student, competing in one of the renowned singing reality shows, and she is 15 years old.

Being the youngest American Idol Season 23 contestant, Mattie Pruitt has proved her talent and become a fan favorite artist. She has won judges and viewers' hearts with each of her performances.

Since winning the Golden Ticket to Hollywood, Mattie Pruitt has shown everyone that she has what it takes to be one of the finalists on the reality show. With her passion for music and mesmerizing voice, Mattie has the potential to win American Idol Season 23.

Mattie Pruitt: A 15-year-old singing sensation who has the potential to win American Idol Season 23

Hailing from Rutherford County, Tennessee's Eagleville, Mattie Pruitt has already made a name for herself and her town by being in the Top 10 of American Idol Season 23. As the female participant revealed, her inspiration comes from artists like Jessie Murph, Teddy Swims, and Chris Stapleton.

After attending local schools including Rockvale Elementary, Barfield Elementary and Christiana Middle School, Mattie's parents supported her love and passion for music. Referring to that, Mattie's father, Justing, via his WGNS Radio interview revealed:

"Watching her grow into the young woman she is today—so devoted to her craft, so passionate about her music—has been one of the greatest blessings God has given me."

During her March 18, 2025, interview with WKRN-TV, Mattie shared her excitement for representing her town and the community on national television. She stated that even though hers is a "small town," it felt really "great" to represent it.

During her early days, Mattie used to sing the national anthem locally. After receiving much praise from friends and family, Mattie's confidence was built. It was a much-needed confidence boost as she didn't feel the same and used to hide under the table.

Later, she decided to audition for American Idol 2023 and has already started her journey for the books. Mattie Pruitt's audition was also one of the most unforgettable moments. However, she was pretty nervous at the time. Only after Lauren Alaina told her that everyone, including the judges, felt the same, did she feel calm.

During Mattie's audition, judges witnessed Craig Campbell, who happens to be a family friend, on the piano. He is a country artist and Luke Bryan's bandmate. Seeing him, Bryan was surprised. Despite everything, Mattie's voice got her the Golden Ticket to Hollywood. Listening to Mattie, one of the judges, Carrie Underwood said:

"She performs beyond her years."

When it comes to the music that Mattie enjoys, she stated it includes both modern and classic:

"I love the old classics. I love the new people like Jessie Murph and yeah, just take away from lots of different styles of music. And I feel like, I guess my style hasn't really have, like, had a name yet."

Mattie has become a force and fan favorite contestant with every song she performed on the American Idol Season 23 stage. It would be exciting to see her advancing in the competition, as it will get fierce from now on.
