After leaving American Idol in May 2024, former judge Katy Perry left all her fans and fellow judges in a void. It was Jimmy Kimmel Live on January 29, 2025, when the singing sensation revealed that she has been missing her co-stars Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. The three spent seven seasons together on the show. Not only she, but also her fans from across the globe are missing her presence on the show.
After Katy Perry left the singing competition, American Idol Season 4 winner Carrie Underwood joined the show as a judge. Undoubtedly, Carrie brings her charm and calm personality to the show since she joined. However, fans habituated to seeing Katy Perry are still shocked and sad about her departure from the show.
American Idol: Katy Perry is highly missed by the fans, while she also misses her co-stars
For the viewers who might not know, singer Katy Perry decided to leave American Idol after seven years, to focus more on her musical career, including her Lifetimes tour. In February 2022, Katy Perry revealed her departure from the singing reality show's season 22. However, it was a shock for her fans.
"I think this probably will be my last show, my last season for 'Idol.' I mean I love 'Idol' so much. It’s connected me with the heart of America, but I feel like I need to go out and feel that pulse to my own beat, you what I'm saying Jimmy? I love the show so much but I wanna go and see the world and maybe bring new music," she said.
Upon being asked by Jimmy Kimmel during the January 29 episode, Katy Perry said that the reason behind her departure was her Lifetimes tour. After that, she revealed her album 143 in September and the details of her Lifetimes tour. The shows are scheduled to start from April 23.
Not only is Katy missing from being on the show, but the fans also miss her quirky nature and hilarious comments. Numerous performances have received quite entertaining comments from the female judge.
