Alexe and Grant have had a strong connection on The Bachelor Season 29 however, at the end of episode 5, he decided to give the rose to Zoe and skip Alexe.
This made fans express concern over his choice because they liked Alexe and her personality in the series. As for Zoe, she has never had a chance to have a one-on-one date with Grant but has stolen him away during group dates multiple times.
Back at The Bachelor night 1, when Grant was handing out first impression roses, he had given one to Alexe. In a fortunate twist of events, she also secured a one-on-one date with him. Showing up at the same, she brought an Ilama with her which she has dubbed as "No drama Ilama."
As for Zoe, during the basket group date in the initial episodes, she had stolen Grant away. Talking about it at the Bachelor Nation podcast, Zoe revealed that she genuinely wanted to know what kind of a person Grant is and if they have a connection at all.
However, this led to her getting a lot of hate from the internet because that time was supposed to be a group date.
Ultimately, at the end of The Bachelor episode 5, Grant gives a rose to Zoe meaning that she is in his top 4 and they will move to a hometown date after this. He did not give a rose to Alexe and she will soon leave. The Bachelor fans voiced their opinions about this choice and one of them wrote on Twitter,
"Grant is off a perc sorry. How do you not choose ALEXE over mormon queen and the random (zoe) he hasn’t made a good choice all season."
"Shocked I literally thought Alexe was kinda end game," said another fan.
Reflecting on how Alexe got a mall date in LA, a fan wrote,
"Not the producers giving my girl Alexe the worst one-on-one in Bachelor history…the Beverly Grove?? Where did the budget go??"
Expressing their disbelief at how Alexe was sent home, a fan said,
"Okay Sarfiena & Carolina going home sure… BUT ALEXE GOING HOME OVER ZOE WHAT IN THE ACTUAL HECK."
"Grant is the worst bachelor ever. Zoe over Sarafiena and Alexe? This guy does not know ball," wrote another fan.
The Bachelor Season 29 - Grant chooses Zoe over Alexe
Back on the first episode of The Bachelor season 29, Grant gave the first 'impression rose' to Alexe.
This also secured her a one-on-one date with him. As for the other ladies, they were invited for a group date with Grant at a basketball court. The twist? There were kids.
Grant wanted to test how the women would fare when it came to taking care of children because he wanted a tight-knit family for himself. During this time Zoe decided to forfeit her shot and instead, take Grant away for some alone time on the roof.
The two talked about themselves and revealed their past. Grant shared his challenges with his father who was an addict. The two seemed to have connected and even shared a kiss.
Later, we saw Grant's mall date with Alexe. He had laid out rose petals for her which led to a giant TV in the center of the mall that had a rose on it. The two spent their time inside the venue and had fun.
Later that evening, they visited a store with a piano in it and Grant made up a song on the spot and sang it for her. As for Alexe, her upbringing was not traditional as well.
She had grown up with her grandparents while her parents were mostly absent from her life. It looked like they had tonnes of fun together and that is the reason fans are shocked that he chose Zoe over Alexe.
The Bachelor Season 29 episodes are released on Mondays at 8 PM Eastern Time on ABC. Later, the installments can be streamed online via Hulu.
