Fans of Gossip Girl star Chanel Banks are concerned about her whereabouts, as the actress has been missing for two weeks. Banks disappeared in Los Angeles on October 31st, 2024, and has not contacted her family ever since.
The actress has still not been found, despite a search operation by her family, especially by her cousin Danielle-Tori Singh. Singh has started a GoFundMe campaign to help locate Banks, revealing that her cousin never goes 48 hours without talking to her.
Banks got married last year and had been living with her husband in the Playa Vista neighborhood in LA. As per Singh, Banks’ husband is not cooperating in her search. The actress starred as Sawyer Bennett in Gossip Girl season 3.

Danielle-Tori Singh has revealed that Chanel Banks last contacted her family members on October 30th, 2024. After a few days passed and Banks could not be located, Singh flew from her home in Toronto to Los Angeles to look out for her sister, while the actress’ mother traveled from New York.
Banks’ missing person case has officially been registered in California and the authorities performed two welfare checks at her home on November 7th and 8th, but the actress was nowhere to be found.
Singh and Banks’ mother then visited her house themselves and found her dog and car there. The only belongings they could not trace were her mobile phone and laptop.
Singh said Banks does not go anywhere without her dog, and her car is still in the garage, which further raises concerns about her whereabouts. She stated in an interview with ABC7 News:
“Five days without hearing from my cousin is red flags and alarm bells. She doesn't go more than 48 hours without speaking to me or her mom. ...”
The 36-year-old actress’ family is distributing flyers in Los Angeles to aid in the search process. Singh, however, claims Banks’ husband is not being supportive She said when they met him on November 10th, he had bruises on his lip and scratches on his arms and neck.
Singh said the marks weren’t there when police performed the welfare checks two days earlier. The husband claims Banks has been gone since November 7th and does not want to contact anybody. Singh wrote on the GoFundMe page:
“We asked him where is Chanel, and all he continues to say is ‘she does not want to be found, she will reach out when she’s ready.’ He claims he does not know where she is, he says he hasn’t seen or heard from her since November 7, but never called police to say she’s gone.”
Further talking about Banks' husband with ABC7 News, Singh said:
“He's not willing to help LAPD. He's not willing to help me or her mom find her. He is removing flyers off of posts and cars.”
The family has asked fans to reach out to them in case they have any information.
Chanel Banks appeared in Gossip Girl in 2009
Chanel Banks played Sawyer Bennett in Gossip Girl season 3 in 2009, appearing in three episodes of The CW teen drama. Bennett was a friend of Jenny Humphrey, played by Taylor Momsen.
Apart from Gossip Girl, Banks was seen in an episode of the CBS police procedural drama Blue Bloods. She also appeared in the 2010 crime thriller film Twelve, starring alongside Chace Crawford and Emma Roberts.

Banks has not been seen on the screen since 2010. Singh said she shifted her focus on writing in recent years and hence, was stepping away from acting.
