Harvey Specter is finally introduced in Suits LA Episode 2 but there’s a twist

Ever since Harvey Specter was confirmed to be returning in Suits LA, fans have been waiting to see Gabriel Macht put on the iconic black suit once again. The wait partly ended in the second episode, as Harvey officially became a part of the narrative.

However, there is a twist as the fan-favorite attorney does not appear in the episode in person; instead, he appears in a photograph and is mentioned in a conversation between Ted Black and Kevin. This marks Harvey’s introduction to the world of Suits LA, almost six years after the conclusion of Suits.

The spin-off series is primarily focused on Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor who runs an entertainment law firm in Los Angeles. In a scene in Suits LA episode 2, Ted confirms that Harvey is his old friend.

Harvey Specter is introduced as Ted Black’s friend in Suits LA Episode 2

Amid the high-octane drama in Suits LA episode 2, Ted Black and his old friend from New York, Kevin, have a light-hearted conversation in his office while discussing Lester’s case.

Kevin then notices a photograph featuring Ted with none other than Harvey Specter. The two seem to have played together on a baseball team. Kevin notices Harvey and asks Ted:

“I remember this guy, great ball player, what was his name? Harry, something like that.”

When Ted replies that his name is actually Harvey, Kevin says he does not like that guy, as he is the only person who is even cockier than Ted. The attorney then responds, saying that is exactly the reason why he likes him.

This brief incident has established a past connection between Ted and Harvey, connecting Suits LA to Suits. The two are likely to be close friends, considering Ted still keeps a picture of Harvey in his office.

While Harvey Specter has yet to make a physical appearance in the show, his mention has teased an exciting future storyline for fans of the original series.

Stephen Amell, who plays Ted Black, previously teased how Harvey would be included in the spin-off's narrative, stating there is a history between the two characters. He said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly in December 2024:

“You'll notice behind my desk that there's a picture of a young Ted Black with what can only be a young Harvey Specter, so there's clearly a history between the characters.”

As for when Gabriel Macht could be seen, the fourth episode of the series is titled Batman Returns, which teases Harvey Specter’s potential appearance. In Suits, Harvey used to make a number of references to The Dark Knight, which hints that he might appear in the Suits LA episode Batman Returns.

Meanwhile, the show continues to captivate the audience with its engaging storyline. As Ted Black is betrayed by his partner Stuart Lane, a battle ensues between the two to have the best clients in the city. Meanwhile, the attorney is also dealing with the criminal case of Lester.

At the same time, younger employees like Erica, Rick, and Leah have their own agendas and struggles, which only make the story more interesting. Created by Aaron Korsh, the show also stars Josh McDermitt, Lex Scott Davis, Bryan Greenberg, Troy Winbush, Rachelle Goulding, Azita Ghanizada, and Maggie Grace in pivotal roles.
