Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking is all set to hit the small screens on November 14, 2024, on Food Network and Max. The culinary show will welcome 9 teams to showcase their pastry and cake-making skills incorporated with "spellbinding edible showpieces inspired by moments and themes from the Harry Potter saga."
The show will be shot in Warner Bros. Leavesden Studios, the original filming studio for the series. Apart from nostalgic filming locations and Harry Potter-themed challenges, the alums from the film series will also make guest appearances, as suggested by the Food Network. The show will be judged by culinary experts Carla Hall and Jozef Youssef.
Another highlight of the show would be the hosts. For this Harry Potter-themed baking show, Olives and James Phelps, the famous Weasley brothers from the Wizard World, would join as the hosts, sharing endearing stories from their time on the sets of Harry Potter.
The twin brothers joined the US Weekly Magzine for an exclusive interview on November 9 and shared some sneak peek about the bakers from the Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking. James Phelps said:
"The flavors they came out with were incredible. One contestant made a mango caramel to go inside the bake. Another from Mexico brought Mexican flavor into her bake — a completely new way of looking at it, but it worked."
Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking hosts James and Oliver open up about revisiting iconic Platform 9 ¾ and Diagon Alley
All the Potterheads must gather on Thursday, November 14, to embark on a journey of nostalgia as Food Network is bringing Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking to their small screens. The show was filmed in the exact location as the film, bringing all the magic, memories, and charm back on the screen for the fans. For the hosts, the show chose "Weasly Brothers" as they were great at creating quirky bakes that led to no good in the film.
This time, they will mesmerize the fans with the magic of their hosting and add the much-required familiarity to the show. The twin brothers joined US Weekly in an interview to reveal some insights and their experience of visiting the set once again. They expressed that revisiting the famous setups of Platform 9 ¾ and Diagon Alley "made them jump back in time."
Oliver Phelps said:
"In one way, it felt like you just jumped back in time. It could have been a day later than when we finished filming. It’s amazing how when you’re in an immersive environment like that, you almost step back into that feeling of when we were filming."
James Phelps added:
"[In 2000], our first day at Leavesden was in the Great Hall, when all the first-years walk in and look around, amazed. When the bakers go into the Great Hall for the first time, they’re literally doing that reaction. That was really fun."
The hosts also shared that the show had incorporated subtle nuances from the film, which will make the viewers relish the show even more. They also mentioned they were eager to witness the audiences' reactions after seeing the bakers creating Harry Potter-themed bakes weekly on Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking.
Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking will premiere on November 14, 2024, at 8/7c on Food Network and Max.
