Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking: Release date, trailer, cast and more about Food Network's magical baking show

This festive season is going to be magical for those who love both Harry Potter and baking. With the announcement of Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking, Warner Bros. Discovery is ready to take the fans back to Hogwarts on November 14, 2024.

The show will be premiering in November and Food Network has already described the competitive show as a

“ground-breaking series”

that

“blends legendary storytelling and fantastical edible creations in a never-before-seen competition that will have audiences at the edge of their seats.”

What’s more exciting is that James and Oliver Phelps, who played Fred and George Weasley, respectively, in the Harry Potter films will be hosting the show, keeping the magic alive.

Warner Bros. Discovery has revealed that Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking, will be premiering on November 14, 2024, on Food Network at 8 pm ET. The show will also be available to stream globally on Max.

According to the media and entertainment company, other broadcasters that will be airing Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking will be announced later.

Besides the hosts of the show being Harry Potter alumni, there will also be other Harry Potter members who will appear as judges in the show. This list includes

  • Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick)

  • Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley)
  • Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood)

The show will also feature judges like Jozef Youssef and Carla Hall along with special guest judges.

Warner Horizon and theoldschool for Food Network are producing Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking. Warner Horizon’s Dan Sacks and Bridgette Theriault are executive producers of the show along with theoldschool’s Yasmin Shackleton and Robin Ashbrook.

With Warner Bros. Discovery dropping the first trailer of Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking viewers can get an idea of how the show will work.

The official description of the show mentions,

“The competition kicks off with a super-sized episode in which nine teams of pastry chefs and cake artists are tasked to craft massive, spellbinding edible showpieces inspired by moments and themes from the Harry Potter saga.”

Viewers can expect to see the creation of spellbinding cakes in each episode. Moreover, the show has been shot at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, the place where the Harry Potter movies were filmed. The backdrop of the series is Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter.

The pastry chefs and the bakers participating in the show will be given a chance to revisit the actual film sets and locations, including The Great Hall at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Gringotts Wizarding Bank, Platform 9¾, and The Burrow.

The winners will be awarded the “Wizards of Baking Cup” and the chance to appear in a new Harry Potter cookbook.
