What happened on Happy Face episode 6?
The latest episode of Happy Face took off after Melissa and Ivy made a shocking discovery that strengthened Elijah's case for innocence. Melissa and Ivy were inside Ziggy's backroom searching for any recording that pertained to Heather.
When all else failed, Melissa had the bright idea to search using Heather's brand name, Lorelai—and this yielded the desired result. They found a 1994 tape and also a recording of Heather's performance, which proved that she was alive at the time when Elijah was accused of murdering her.
Following this, it was just a matter of time before things looked up for Elijah inside the courtroom. Gabriela made an impressive opening statement to the extent that even Calloway expressed his support for the defense. The judge then ruled that Elijah should be freed immediately instead of being involved in a retrial. Eventually, Elijah tasted justice for the first time after walking out of the court as a free man after decades and finally reuniting with his sister.
Khiyla Anne opens up about her role on Happy Face
Based on a true story, Happy Face tells the tale of the infamous Happy Face killer, Keith Hunter Jesperson. Actress Khiyla Anne portrays the role of Keith's granddaughter, Hazel Reed, and in a recent interview with Deadline, she opened up about her experience of working on the show. When asked about the feeling of being on the set of a show inspired by real life, Anne commented:
"Yes, it’s definitely a heavy subject matter, but we really kept it light and positive between takes. During breaks, we sometimes played Uno and joked around a bit. Our crew was really amazing, and the cast was wonderful to work with."
She then went on to speak about the significance of the show's fifth episode for her character:
"Episode 5 is pivotal for Hazel, and she has some pretty big moments. She is seen first talking with her grandfather, which I think viewers will be shocked about. Some probably will be screaming at my character, saying, “Stop! Why are you doing that? Hang up the phone.”"
The actress added:
"I think what’s going through her head is that he doesn’t seem as bad as her mom and her family have made him out to be. You’ll see how he’s validating her when he says, “You’re not a kid anymore, and you can decide for yourself what you think of me.” She feels the opposite when her mother tells her what to think and what to do."
