Daredevil: Born Again premiered on Disney+ on March 4, 2025, and dropped two episodes on the premiere day. In an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, Vincent D'Onofrio, who plays Kingpin/ Wilson Fisk, has teased that Disney+'s Daredevil: Born Again will be much grimmer than Netflix. William Fisk said that he can't believe a particular (gorry scene) made it through the edits.
As per some fan theories, MCU's latest villain Muse might kill Vanessa Fisk thus enabling Wilson to get back to his past self. For the unversed, Muse is a carefree supervillain and a disturbed psychopathic murder artist who brutally kills people for art.
Daredevil: Born Again fans worried about Vanessa's fate and Kingpin's revenge
In a Reddit thread by @MarvelsGrantMan136, viewers have shared their opinions on Wilson Fisk or the Kingpin's upcoming gruesome storyline. A Reddit user @Worthyness has compared the upcoming Muse's violence on Daredevil: Born Again with that of the cannibalistic serial killer Dr. Hannibal Lecter. The user wrote.
"We're gonna get some Hannibal Lecter shenanigans"
Another Reddit user, @Domination1799, commented:
"Muse is a great choice since he’s new but also very disturbing. He’s like one of those demented serial killers in Hannibal.
While some users are excited about the upcoming intense violence and gory scenes. Another netizen, @cmomo80 commented:
"It’s got the punisher in it so it’s probably be more bloody, violent, gory scenes."
Another user, @TJ_the_Redditor, commented:
"If it's gorier than that, then we're talking The Punisher-level violence."
A user, @ColdnyQuilL, wrote:
"I’m expecting some gruesome murders, and casually gore on the level of The Boys."
Others seemed quite happy with the introduction of Muse as a supervillain in Daredevil: Born Again. A Reddit user @vacanus wrote:
"Given that they're using Muse as one of the season's major villains... I actually think it has a good shot."
In the premiere episode, Matt Murdock grapples with the loss of Foggy Nelson, prompting him to reconsider his role as Daredevil. On the other hand, the viewers are introduced to Hector Ayala, the White Tiger, who challenges Matt's legal boundaries, while Wilson Fisk delivers a mayoral speech promising to clear the New York streets of vigilantes.
However, the Daredevil fans seemed to be concerned about the fate of Vanessa Fisk, Wilson Fisk's wife, who has taken over Wilson's illegal dealings and his criminal Empire. Wilson Fisk detaches himself from all his illegal dealings since he would be running for the mayoral position of New York. Their relationship seems to be troubled as they eventually consult a therapist, Heather Glenn.
If the gruesome vigilante Muse kills Vanessa Fisk, we might get to see the return of Kingpin's grim side. How can anyone forget the Daredevil Season 1 Episode 4 scene where he decapitated Russian mobster Anatoly Ranskahov's head by repeatedly slamming the car door? Was it his fault? Ranskahov interrupted Kingpin's date with a woman. Wilson Fisk's violent nature has been portrayed throughout the Daredevil series, whether it is killing his father with a hammer or killing a young ice cream man with his bare hands.
Vincent D' Onforio teasing an even more intense level of violence for the Disney+ show, hinting at an upgrade from the Netflix's gritty scenes.
Catch the upcoming episode of Daredevil: Born Again Episode 3 on March 11, 2025, at 9 p.m. ET on Disney+.
