Episode 7 begins with the life of Merritt and Ed. They live very happily. In this episode, they perform in a play called Half-Ton Trauma. On the other hand, Lois has developed an alcohol addiction and is not living a happy life. She begins to treat her family badly, giving them dirty looks, accusing her daughter of being fat, and picking fights with Marshall.
When Eddie gets fed up, he deduces that Lois needs to be removed from their home and put into rehab. Lois explodes in anger, saying that her family is gaslighting her.

How does the twist unfold in Grotesqueries Season 1, Episode 7?
An interesting twist unfolds in the seventh episode of Grotesquerie when it is revealed that everything witnessed up to that point had been a creation of Lois Tryon's unconscious mind. This revelation is unsettling and adds to the complexity of her emotional and mental journey.
It was Lois who was in a coma all this time, not her husband Marshall as we thought. And even while unconscious, she has managed to turn everyone around her into characters from a psychological thriller.
The episode takes an interesting turn midway through when Lois gets drunk and argues with her daughter Merritt, calls out Eddie for flirting with her, and discovers Sister Megan's connection to the Grotesque murders, letting the audience know that she is working with the real killer, Father Charlie.
It was during Lois' fight for her life against Sister Megan that the twist took place, and it will be remembered that the camera zoomed out to rewind the timeline. This time we see Marshall sitting at a dinner table with Merritt and Eddie.
The scene is the same as when Lois sat down to dinner with Merritt and Eddie in episode 2. They confessed their love for each other. This time, Merritt was also excited about being cast in a reality TV show that she'd been trying out for for the past six episodes.
What will become of Ryan Murphy's grotesquerie in the end? Murphy promised to explore what happens after this twist and hinted at more.
What does episode 7 of Grotesquerie mean for Lois?
We discover that Lois has been in a coma for the first six episodes. Everything takes on a new light in episode 7 when Lois finally awakens from her "living nightmare". Despite being in a coma, Lois is still fighting for herself and her family.
From episode 8, however, the story shifts to the grotesque as Lois' real battle begins. Now that Lois is awake, it's time for her to break free with the message of her subconscious and act to save her family and herself. Episode 7 reveals a dark conspiracy, including her husband's attempt to pull the plug on her life support, but things could be about to take a turn for the better.
