The fall finale of Grey's Anatomy Season 21 ended with not one but two cliffhangers. The episode also bid farewell to one of its own, with a difficult case involving Amelia and Winston.
Things were already difficult for the Grey Sloan staff because of a Seattle heatwave. The doctors were trying their best to comfort their patients, but the situation did not look good as the heatwave continued.
Jo and Lucas head to a convenience store to buy ice for their patients. However, things didn't go according to plan and the pair found themselves amid a robbery at the store.
To gain the upper hand, Gladys the cashier grabs a baseball bat and Lucas leaps onto the robber, which results in a bullet being shot. The episode ends without revealing who got shot.
Amidst this heatwave, Benson finds his ex-fiancée Molly and the two restart their relationship with a kiss. While new relationships are formed, some get worse. Teddy and Owen's marriage seems to be deteriorating with Season 21.

Mika is still mourning her sister's death in Grey's Anatomy. Is she leaving the Grey Sloan?
The latest episode took off six months after the events of the previous episode, where Mika woke up after surgery to realize that her sister Chloe was dead. This episode marked her first day back at the hospital.
But clearly, she is not ready to be back in the hospital just yet as she froze when she saw a patient getting an attack from a heat stroke. To make things worse, she even lashes out at Bailey to save the patient.
Lashing out at her co-workers and freezing on duty aren't good for the patients, and she isn't fit to continue. She realizes that everything at the hospital reminds her of her sister.
While Bailey advises her to take a break, Mika realizes she cannot continue working at Sloan because of her sister's memories. She bids goodbye to the hospital, leaving a heartbroken Jules, who has just started a relationship with her.
Amelia works on a difficult case in Grey's Anatomy
The big case of the fall finale was a teenage girl with multiple aneurysms. Amelia worked on the girl's case with Winston, who had once ghosted the patient's mom after a date (very risky surgery indeed).
But no case is difficult for the doctors at Sloan who have done miracles before. Amelia was aware of the complications, but she did her best and performed a very risky and complicated surgery on the girl.
While the surgery went well, it was now time for the result. It was now time to see if the girl's heart restarted. But as they did, they received a heartbreak, and the girl's heart did not start.
While it is not good, miracles are common in Grey's Anatomy. The girl's fate hangs in the air as she might be resuscitated by Amelia.
A bizarre robbery in Grey's Anatomy Season 21 Episode 8
It looks like the writers were missing out on action. The season finale of Grey's Anatomy featured a random robbery in the convenience store, where Jo and Lucas were asked to fetch ice for the patients.
Due to the heatwave, there was an obvious shortage of ice, and the two found a robber at the convenience store, holding a gun at the cashier, Gladys.
In between this chaos, Jo, who is pregnant with twins, starts bleeding. While it looks like the robber was getting a little concerned for her, Gladys took a baseball bat to get the upper hand on her armed robber.
Soon, Lucas leaped on the robber, and we heard the gun go out as the two fought it out. The episode ends without revealing who was shot. However, the situation is very precarious, with Jo bleeding and Lucas directly on the robber.
