Government Cheese follows a burglar named Hampton Chambers, who is released from prison in 1969. He goes back to his family, which includes his wife, Astoria, and their sons, Einstein and Harrison.
Hampton comes up with the idea of creating a self-sharpening power drill, believing it to be his second chance at life. However, his past, present, and future begin to collide as his family forms an unconventional unit.
