NCIS: Los Angeles had a successful 14-season run, which premiered in September 2009 and concluded in May 2023. After spending so many years together, playing the same characters, the actors formed closer bonds with their colleagues and even their characters.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the cast of NCIS: Los Angeles shared what items they took, as it was an emotional final day on the set. Actor LL Cool J, who played Senior Special Agent Sam Hanna, humorously said he stole all the goodies, which include his character Hanna’s bulletproof vest. He further shared,
"I got my vest. I got my badge."
In another humorous quip, he further shared about his wish to put the boat shed from the set in his backyard, making Chris O’Donnell laugh at his humor.
NCIS: Los Angeles cast shared what they took as mementos from the sets
During the interview with Entertainment Tonight for the NCIS: Los Angeles finale, several of the cast shared what mementos they took from the sets to remember their time on the show.
As mentioned, LL Cool J took his character Hanna’s vest and badge. Another member of the cast, Daniela Ruah, who plays combat specialist Kensi Blye, shared that she asked to take the two badges of her character, which she wanted to pass on to her kids. She said,
"You had two badges and I asked for both badges so I could eventually give it one to each kid. On the badges is still my photograph from season 1."
Actor Eric Christian Olsen, who played NCIS Investigator Marty Deeks and was a recurring character in season 1, joined the main cast in season 2 and was part of it through to the final episode of season 14. He shared with ET that he took the weight set from the gym, and also:
"A bunch of Jordans."
He then showed the one he was wearing, which he apparently took from the sets. He further said that the ones he was wearing were directly stolen from the sets.
More about NCIS: Los Angeles
As the cast shared about the mementos, they also reminisced about their time on the sets for 14 years. Chris O’Donnell, at the wrap party of the series, told ET:
"The 14-year thing, we say it, it doesn't seem real because it feels like we just started this and saying goodbye, it's emotional. It was an amazing run. I'm just so grateful. So grateful for the opportunity and the success and the fans tuning in and for the friends that I made along the way."
As per ET, O’Donnell, who plays Special Agent G. Callan, took some of his character’s clothes and his chair from the set. Another cast member, Caleb Castille, who joined the show in season 11 and played the character of Special Agent Devin Rountree, took all of his character’s chair backs.
Although NCIS: Los Angeles has ended, the characters might still appear in recurring roles in the other shows of the NCIS universe, just like LL Cool J's guest-starring role in NCIS.
