Shark Tank Australia investor Nick Bell attended fellow Shark Jane Lu's podcast episode, which aired on November 27, 2024. During the podcast, he opened up about how he got the opportunity to join the reality TV show and become the judge.
When the podcast host, Jane Lu, asked Nick about Shark Tank questions and that he might be "sick" of them. But he thought otherwise. She then asked him how he came to become part of the reality series.
"When they asked me to...to do it, I'm like, finally, I've got a call up. But I...I love Shark Tank, the show. I've been watching it for years. And then when they asked me to do it, I'm like, this is gonna be awesome."

While answering how he was approached to be on Shark Tank Australia, Nick mentioned he had been watching the show for "years." So when he was asked to be on it, he felt it was "gonna be awesome."
"Ten days of filming, but it's it's 100% legitimate. Like, there's no it's not, storyboarded. It's real pitches, invest in our real our own money. It's perfect," Nick said.
Agreeing with that, The Lazy CEO podcast host mentioned that there have never been "scripts" and that it was all "100% legit." After sharing his thoughts, Nick asked Jane Lu to share her side of it.
The Showpo founder said she "loved" it, and was "so fun." Listening to that, Shark Tank Australia investor Nick stated that it was "awesome" and "an honor" to be part of the show. They talked about sitting quite far from each other during the show.
Jane Lu said that sometimes, pitches are quite intense and feel like "watching a tennis match."
"We're down the other end. But sometimes I'm just like watching, like, a tennis match. I'm like, oh my god. This is so intense. I can't believe it's happening," she said.
Shark Tank Australia investor Nick Bell said that even though it was "competitive", he absolutely "adore" the show. Further in the podcast, the host asked Nick his first impressions of fellow Sharks.
Nick responded that they had "never" crossed paths before Shark Tank. However, he stated he had heard about her, as they were from the "same era." He added that everyone was "very friendly."
He recalled that as he arrived on the show, he replaced someone. Similar to his arrival, Maxine also came and "replaced" someone. He then told Jane Lu they have been "very warm" and "welcoming" towards him and Maxine.
"You guys were very warm and welcoming to us, very friendly. And then but when the show is on, when we're when we're doing it, it's every man and woman for himself."
Further in the segment, Shark Tank Australia's Nick Bell shared his thoughts on Robert Herjavec and how he goes on a "monologue." Jane Lu talked about the "spark" in Robert's eyes.
