"Going to make a fourth season happen": Alan Ritchson on Blue Mountain State revival

The fourth season of the famous football series Blue Mountain State may well be coming to the screen soon. Alan Ritchson of Reacher fame, who played Kevin ‘Thad’ Castle in Blue Mountain State, will reprise the character and is expected to take on the role of executive producer as well for the upcoming season.

During a press conference recently, he said,

‘We’re actually setting it up with Amazon. We are going to make a fourth season happen; I’m trying to work it into my schedule. Honestly, I think it’s going to be the best season of BMS we’ve ever had. It is so damn funny, and it’s perfect, the way we resurrect the characters and bring them into the way that things are now.’

Season 1 of Blue Mountain State premiered in 2010 on Spike TV (Paramount Network today). Chris Romano and Eric Falconer created the beloved sitcom. The show ran for 3 seasons and 39 episodes from 2010 to 2011.

In 2012, it was confirmed that Blue Mountain State will not be coming back with its fourth season. The show gained a cult following through the years especially after it was picked by Netflix. The Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland movie was released in 2016 following a Kickstarter campaign to fund the project.

As per Deadline, the fourth series is in the works with many of the ensemble cast including Alan Ritchson, Darin Brooks and Chris Romano set to reprise their roles. The show is currently in the development stage at Amazon Prime Video.
