Who is in the cast for Godfather of Harlem Season 4?
Forest Whitaker will reprise his role as Ellsworth Raymond "Bumpy" Johnson in Godfather of Harlem Season 4. He will be joined by Lucy Fry, Antoinette Crowe-Legacy, Ilfenesh Hadera, Michael Raymond James, Erik Palladino, and Erik LaRay Harvey, who are all expected to return in the new season.
Talking about new additions, actor Rome Flynn, famous for his roles in The Bold and the Beautiful and How to Get Away with Murder, will play the character of Frank Lucas. Lucas was a real-life American drug lord who was active in Harlem in the late 1960s.
Actors Michael Benjamin Washington and Elijah Wright are also new cast additions, who will play the characters of James Baldwin and Gerome Greene, respectively. Baldwin was a real-life African-American writer and civil rights activist.
What can you expect from Godfather of Harlem Season 4?
Flynn's Frank Lucas will be the primary addition to the plot in Godfather of Harlem Season 4. As seen from the teaser for the new season, he will be a harbinger of chaos for Bumpy until he takes him under his wing.
In an interview with Deadline, Flynn discussed his character in the fourth season:
“There’s an adolescence about him when he’s as ruthless as can be and is also unforgiving. I have to find those characteristics and commonalities because that’s what the viewers care about,”
He added:
“The key is finding the synchronicities between these unlikely characters with normal people. That is something I do when I’m trying to go through a script, figuring out how something feels for people who are living their everyday lives. Playing this role in particular has been very transformative for me...''
Lucas is quick to take out a knife in the teaser to prove his presence as the new contender in Harlem, which proves that he is here to stay. In addition, Bumy will reel with the aftermath of Malcolm X's assassination in Season 3, which is bound to change his relationships and position in the city.
