Shark Tank investor Lori Greiner recently shared on her social media the seven habits that happy people avoid as much as possible. Given that the world is full of challenges and daily pressures, the pursuit of happiness often seems unattainable.
However, Lori explained that happiness is less about external circumstances and more about internal choices and mindsets. According to her, happy individuals choose not to dwell on certain worries.
First, she talked about "regret" and how it can trap individuals in a spiral from which it is difficult to escape. She says that by treating mistakes as learning opportunities, happy people can transform past missteps into valuable lessons.
Advocating for the emotional freedom that comes with forgiveness and acceptance, the Shark Tank investor said:
"Don't regret things. Learn from them and move on. Go forward positively. Don't hold grudges, let them go. They don't do anything positive for you."

Moving on, Lori Greiner, the Shark Tank investor, talked about people-pleasing. She warned against the compulsion to seek validation and approval from others, as it can cause a strained relationship with oneself. Instead, she emphasized the importance of nurturing connections based on mutual respect. She explained:
"The need to please people. This can lead to unhealthy relationships and neglect your own important needs."
Thirdly, she talked about comparison. Lori says that everyone's journey is different, and thus, comparing oneself to others is harmful, as nothing good comes from it. The Shark Tank investor says that happy individuals recognize their unique strengths and work on them.
"Comparing yourself to others. It is a waste of time. You are special and uniquely you. Embrace that," she expressed.
Lori's fourth point highlights the negative effects of striving for perfectionism. She says that it is "unrealistic and one of the biggest causes of anxiety." It can lead to constant self-criticism, and thus, happy people understand that celebrating small victories is better than obsessing over perfection.
The Shark Tank investor then pointed out negative self-talk and urged her followers to speak positively to themselves. She advised:
"Make sure what you're saying to yourself is positive. Be your own best friend, not your worst enemy."
The sixth point was about judgment and worrying about what other people think. She advocates for not caring about others' opinions and instead being authentic to oneself and one's inner sense of worth. She explained:
"Happy people don't worry about what other people think of them. Instead, they worry about what they think of themselves. It doesn't matter what others think of you."
Concluding her video on a positive note with the seventh habit, the Shark Tank investor says that happy people do whatever brings them joy. They also surround themselves with people who understand and support them at every step of the way. She said:
"Do things that make you happy, things that make you feel proud, and surround yourself with people who lift you up. You deserve it."
