"Well, you know what they say about long distance. Yeah. But I'm glad we can remain friends. I hope next time you're around here, uh, we could hang out sometime, maybe go bowling. Yeah, that'd be great."

Love on the Spectrum Season 3 Episode 2: Connor and Kate's first date ended with a "remain friends" conversation

Since the show's first episode, Connor's first date with Kate continued. Both of them enjoyed their date, but Connor had an issue regarding it being long-distance. As their date ended, the two walked in the Japanese garden. Later on, as they were leaving, Love on the Spectrum star Connor told Kate:

"Kate, I...I had a great time. I...I think you're a real nice person. I'm sorry, but Nashville may be a bit too far for me, but I...but I'm hoping we could just remain friends."

He mentioned the "long distance" and why it couldn't work out between the two as romantic connections. However, he told Kate that he would like to "remain friends", which Kate also agreed to.

Later in Love on the Spectrum Episode 2, Connor tells his family about his date with Kate the next day. He mentioned that his date was "good."

"She is nice, but she does live quite a ways from here, so..."

Listening to Connor, his mom told him she was glad he met Kate. That way, he learned that he wanted someone who lived nearby.

His sister asked if Nashville was a "bit far" for Connor and if he had set a limit for his romantic partner to be from around. Connor replied, a few minutes or so. His mother jumped in and said that they could give him rides or he could use services such as Uber and Lyft.

"Expensive and unreliable," responded Connor.

As an alternative, his mother suggested he could learn to drive. Love on the Spectrum star Connor found it "slightly cheaper." Later, when his mom mentioned car payments and insurance, he mentioned having house insurance for the guest house they would build in the backyard.

"It'll bleed me dry. I'll...I'll be bankrupt right into the ground. I can't afford any of that," replied Connor.

Listening to him worrying about many things, his mother told him not to go from "zero to 60." However, Connor said he was being "realistic." Further, they talked about tips, and Connor's thoughts didn't match his family's. His mother advised him to be a "decent human" along the way.
