However, the two challengers were set against each other in the elimination arena after Cara Maria won the Daily Challenge.
Cara Maria, Olivia, and Michele were targeted for the episode 13 elimination round, as decided by Bananas. The two contestants were tensed to face each other as none of them wanted to lose or send the other home. The anticipation of seeing these two friends compete for the same spot made the episode more thrilling for the fans.

The Challenge 40 star Michele beats her "best friend" Olivia in the elimination arena
The Challenge 40 aired episode 13 on November 13, and fans witnessed another elimination where Oliva Kaiser left the show after getting defeated by none other than her close friend and ally, Michele Fitzgerald.
In the elimination round known as "Stranded", the two challengers faced mental and physical challenges as they had to form a DNA-resembling ladder setup and get on top of it to release a bag full of letters.
The twist was to find a three-word phrase from them and the one to collect the letters and form the phrase would win the elimination round. The elimination passed both the contestants with ultimate pressure as they had the fear of losing as well as losing their all from the game.
With this double pressure, Olivia and Michele started the challenge, and Olivia reached the top first to release the bag full of letters. However, Michele snatched the victory from Olivia's hand by making the three-word phrase first which read:
"Not Eliminated Tonight.”
Michele won her spot back but lost her friend Olivia as her The Challenge 40 journey came to an end. However, Michele saved Derek as he was close to Olivia and targeted Cory, Bananas, and Josh for the next elimination challenge.
