The highly acclaimed Amazon Prime Video series Gen V is gearing up for its second season. The show is based on The Boys, the comic story arc written by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. It has generated significant excitement due to its alternative take on the superhero genre, like the main show, The Boys.
The first season of Gen V ended on a cliffhanger, and the upcoming season is intricately connected to The Boys. Fans of Gen V and The Boys alike are eager to dive into the new storylines and see what the upcoming season has in store.
Filming for the second season began in May 2024. Meanwhile, here is everything you need to know about Gen V Season 2.
What is the plot of Gen V Season 2?
According to Prime Videos, the first season is set in America's college for superheroes. The students compete for a chance to join Vought International's team of superheroes, The Seven. The competition forces them to put their morals on the line as they decide what kind of superheroes they want to become.
Gen V Season 2 will pick up where the fourth season of The Boys left off. Gen V's Sam and Castle appeared in season 4 of The Boys. They are expected to play a significant role in the upcoming season, hinting at an intriguing crossover.
Showrunner Eric Kripke has also confirmed that the new season of Gen V will address the events leading up to the conclusion of The Boys Season 4.
"In our minds, it’s only a couple of days after whatever the events are of Gen V. We try to keep the timeline super simple because all that folding-in-on-itself timeline stuff that I think other comic book universes find themselves having to do is just bewildering for me as a viewer. So it’s all very modular," said Kripke about the plot of Gen V Season 2 in an interview with Variety.
