Anticipation is high for the upcoming Wednesday Season 2 on Netflix. Although the exact release date and plot details for the second installment are still under wraps, Wednesday Season 2 is expected to hit Netflix sometime in 2025.

Being one of the most watched shows on Netflix, Wednesday Season 2 is expected to deliver a power-packed new season. The latest news regarding the show's ensemble cast has left fans rejoicing as Lady Gaga has been reported to join the show.

Entertainment Weekly reported that Lady Gaga has been signed on by Netflix for a role in Wednesday Season 2. Other than this, the details surrounding the news are sketchy and it can't be said for sure whether Lady Gaga will be appearing for a cameo or as a character in the series.

We don't know whether she will be appearing in just a single episode or across multiple episodes. Hopefully, the details will soon arrive.

Lady Gaga shared an unconventional bond with Wednesday even before she was cast to be a part of the show. Her song Bloody Mary received a new life online after it was paired with Jenna Ortega's memorable dance performance from episode 4 of the first season and posted on Tiktok, where it quickly became a trend.

What's the latest buzz about Wednesday season 2?

Entertainment Weekly reported that the production for Wednesday season 2 is currently going on in Ireland. The show first debuted on Netflix in 2022 and continues the Addams Family-related narrative, focusing on Wednesday Addams as she pursues her education at the Nevermore Academy to become a successful psychic.

Wednesday quickly rose to great prominence and became one of the most-watched shows that Netflix has to offer. Speaking to Variety during the Golden Globe Awards in January 2023, Jenna Ortega had herself foreshadowed Lady Gaga's entry to the show in a way when she stated a potential storyline that might fight the character of Mother Monster. She said:

"I'm sure Netflix would love that. I think Mrs. Thornhill and Wednesday had this weird mentor relationship or kind of understood each other in a certain way, so, if Lady Gaga were to be a part, I think it would have to be two monsters that understand each other."

Apart from Jenna Ortega, the other cast members that will be appearing on Wednesday season 2 include Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Owen Painter, Noah Taylor, and Evie Templeton. They will be joined by Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O’Connor, Heather Matarazzo, Joonas Suotamo, and Haley Joel Osment in guest roles.

The news of Gaga's casting has created excitement among fans, who have welcomed the news wholeheartedly. Several fans took to social media platform X to share their joy.

One fan wrote: "Gaga x Tim Burton, we won" while another fan commented on a post from Instagram,

"Visually she fits for the role😻"

Another user stated:

"It fits her the most ! Darkness"

What is Lady Gaga up to now?

Apart from filming for Wednesday season 2, Lady Gaga is currently busy working on her seventh solo pop music album which is expected to drop in February, 2025. A single from the album, called Disease has already been making waves since its release in October.

Speaking to EW a few weeks ago, Lady Gaga mentioned that her current projects called for dealing with her trauma associated with early fame. She added:

"Playing a strung-out girl my whole career was a way for me to split off from my true self, but, it’s all me," she said at the time.
"Basically, that song says if I was ever going to find joy or happiness in my life, it would probably feel like an accident. Where I was in my life for a long time, I was on a path that was pretty futile because I was so split off from reality. My dedicated fans know this about me, that playing a persona had a price, and it has a price for Lee and her love of Joker. There’s definitely a way that I address that on this record."

Wednesday season one is available exclusively on Netflix.
