Gabriel Macht is reprising his role as Harvey Specter in NBC's spin-off series Suits: L.A., where he will make special appearances in three episodes. He has played Harvey in all nine seasons of the original Suits. The actor announced his return on social media, posting a video of himself in costume along with a message suggesting his character was coming back to help an old friend.
Along with bringing in more popularity to the show Harvey's reappearance in Suits: L.A. suggests that he may be personally connected to one of the show's characters. Although the show is set in California, the main character, Ted Black, is a former federal prosecutor from New York and may have had previous contact with people here.
The video on Gabriel's social media is set to the original Suits theme song. It shows Macht showing off his monogrammed shirt sleeve before stepping into Harvey's labeled shoes.
He captioned the post,
“When an old friend is in need…it’s time to take care of things and make those very 'things' right.”
When will Gabriel Macht return to Suits: L.A.?
Suits: L.A. aired on the USA Network from 2011 to 2019, but became even more popular when all nine seasons began streaming on Netflix in 2023. Within a year, it became the most streamed show according to Nielsen's rankings.
The new episode of Suits: L.A. will follow Ted as he unravels his mysterious past while representing some of the most influential clients in Los Angeles. He will be joined by a group of fellow lawyers, adding to the drama as their personal and professional lives intertwine.
Macht's potential return to the Suits universe follows his reunion with former cast members Adams, Gina Torres, and Sarah Rafferty at the 2024 Golden Globes in January.
Macht's on-screen partner until season seven, Patrick J. Adams, recently discussed the show's comeback with Sarah Rafferty on his Suits rewatch podcast. He shared his thoughts on why the relationship between Mike (Adams) and Harvey (Macht) captured the audience's interest.
Taling to the Hollywood Reporter, he stated -
“It is a relationship that is the truest version of mentorship, which is not a dynamic that I think I can really remember seeing a lot or being so foundational to a show on television.”

How are the two Suits shows connected?
Suits has been a hugely popular show since its inception and has recently gained even more traction thanks to streaming. One of the first developments to come out of this renewed interest in Suits is the announcement of a spin-off that, unlike the stillborn Pearson, will focus on new characters.
Suits: L.A. deals with a different city and a different company than the original series. In this new show, Ted Black runs Black Lane Law, a firm specializing in entertainment law. With the LA setting of the two different firms, there is not much to connect the two Suits shows, other than the shared background of Harvey and Ted.
Bringing Harvey to Los Angeles to help out an old friend from his days as a prosecutor is simple, but a good link between the two shows a similarity.
Suits: L.A. premieres on NBC on 23 February at 9 pm ET/8 pm CT.
