Amazon Prime Video's action horror series, The Bondsman, dropped on April 3, 2025. Since its release, the Kevin Bacon and Jennifer Nettles-starring series has been able to garner positive reviews and critical acclaim. The show has already secured 7.1/10 stars on IMDb, while receiving a whopping 82 % rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The plot follows Hub Halloran, a bounty hunter who died under mysterious circumstances, only to be resurrected by the Devil, who deployed him to hunt down the escaped demons. Do not worry, this show is the perfect amalgamation of action, horror, comedy, and dark gothic elements. So if you are craving to binge-watch something like Dead Boy Detectives, Brimstone, and Supernatural, this is a perfect choice.

Fans have expressed their admiration for the show on several social media platforms, including Reddit. In a Reddit thread in r/televion called The Bondsman- Series Premiere Discussion, the users praised the show for its unique elements. A user called skrawberries_wrote

In the Reddit discussion thread, fans have shared their views on Kevin Bacon's The Bondsman. Created by Grainger David, this series has a total of seven episodes with an average runtime of 30 minutes each.

A Reddit user, u/Useful-Toe-7761, wrote,

"Great show, but why does Prime limit the episode to 30 minutes just like On Call, the episode needs to be an hour, not 30 minutes."

Another one, u/TheOneThatCameEasy wrote,

"Fun. Entertaining. Easy to binge. Great cliffhanger ending. Will definitely watch Season 2. It's a show that doesn't take itself too seriously and accomplished what it set out to do. I do wish the episodes were a little longer though. An additional 5 or 10 minutes won't hurt"

Even though the fans loved the fresh supernatural show, they did wish for the episodes to be a bit longer. The reason? The show had multiple subplots, explored dark lore, and most importantly, it had an essence of slow-burning tension and horror, thus, shorter episodes ruined the flow of the plot, and the viewers were left craving for more.

While some fans are waiting for a new season. However, the show has not been renewed for a fresh season yet. As u/Cocobani, wrote,

"Yup, give me season 2. My wife and I watched the whole thing in one sitting."

While u/Dismal_Put6887 wrote,

"Nice little show was a quick binge. I like Supernatural and Ash vs Evil Dead. This show has elements that me both of those. I would like to see a second. I was a bit surprised it ended the way it did."

Many fans also found the few elements of the show a bit similar to Brimstone (a dead cop hunts for damned souls) and Reaper (a guy works as a bounty hunter for the devil).

"Reminds me of a series in the early 2000s called Reaper" wrote u/ChuckyJa
"Looks a lot like Brimstone"- wrote u/pujarteago1
