From, an MGM+ production, which has kept viewers hooked since its first season, is back with its third season. The first episode of season 3 premiered on September 22, 2024. Created by John Griffin, From is a brilliant and horrifying tale set in Michigan.
The show's basic premise follows the town's residents, who are revealed to be held captive there. They cannot leave, and even if they manage to escape, there’s hardly any chance they will survive.
While being a horror show, From also deals with themes of existential dread and the perpetuity of human existence. What makes From more scary is the presence of the forest outside the town from where mysterious creatures appear at night, ready to devour the townsfolk.
Season 2 ended on a cliffhanger, and season 3 is right at the door. As such, this is a good time to revisit the events of season 2 to better understand the third season.

1.Tabitha was alive at the end of From Season 2
Season 2 of From ended on a massive cliffhanger. We saw Tabitha Matthews making it to the top of the lighthouse, only to be pushed 50 feet to the ground by a ghostly boy.
However, in a surprise turn of events, she finds herself in a hospital in a normal and new town when she wakes up. As Tabitha comes to terms with her new location, her reaching there remains a mystery.
Season 3 will likely focus on this storyline, as it is one of the biggest plots of From. How Tabitha returns to the old town and meets her family remains to be explored in season 3.
2. Jade comes close to deciphering the symbols in From Season 2
Another major plot point in season 2 was the meaning of the strange symbols that only the oldest and the eccentric resident of the town, Victor, could explain. However, by the end of Season 2, the tormented and boozy Jade, gets a massive revelation about the signs.
Like many other residents of the town, Jade also had dreams that almost drove him mad. However, by the end of season 2, he was able to put together the clues and get the courage to go down to the shadowy caves where the signs had been written on the wall.
This journey takes him to the center of a group of ghost children chanting the word ‘Uncooey.’ However, what this word means or why the ghost children are chanting that word in the direction of the symbols Jade has been obsessing over was not explained in season 2. This is another major storyline that could be explored in season 3.
3. Boyd destroyed the Ballerina Chime Box
Boyd's story was interweaved in different subplots of From Season 2. However, the main story that drives Byod and his actions is the chime that comes from a spinning Ballerina figure and its possession of some of the townsfolk.
Boyd was tormented by a real Ballerina whenever he drifted into a dreamlike state, which separated him from reality. Throughout season 2, the sound of the chime box has been associated with bad things, and three people in the town have gone into a coma-like state because of it.
In the season 2 finale, Byod smashes the chime box using a heavy torch. Immediately after this, the three people come out of their state of coma and are saved. However, the long-term repercussions of Boyd’s action have not been shown in season 2 and await to be explored in the third season.
