The iconic sitcom Friends is best known for its witty dialogs and quirky storylines, which add to the characters of each of the six protagonists on the show.

One of these recurring storylines is about Matt Le Blanc's Joey Tribbiani, an actor on the show who landed the role of Dr. Drake Ramoray in Days of Our Lives in the show's Season 2.

While Days of Our Lives is an actual longest-running Peacock drama series that ended in 2022, it also existed in the Friends universe, and one of the characters was a part of the show.

After Joey's appearance in Days of Our Lives, many fans wondered if Blanc actually had a part in the hit drama series, the answer to which is no. In fact, there is no character named Dr. Drake Ramoray on the actual Days of Our Lives.

More about Joey's character of Dr. Drake in Friends in our story.

While many of the sitcom fans are still confused about Chandler's job on the show, Joey's job was established since the show's inception. Joey was a struggling actor who often had no money because of no acting gigs.

But his career seemed to hit a jackpot in Season 2 when he landed the role of Dr. Drake Ramoray in Days of Our Lives, a neurosurgeon. Joey seemed to be pleased with this turn of events, but this was short-lived after he gave an interview where he said that he makes up his own lines.

Following this interview on Friends, the writers of Days of Our Lives put his character into a coma out of spite, the last of Drake that fans saw until Season 7. In Season 7, Joey's Drake's character was briefly revived after he was given a woman's brain, a hilarious arc on the sitcom.

There is no doubt that Joey's character, Drake had a separate fanbase, because of which the actor appeared as his character on the Late Night with Seth Meyers show in 2015.

For this cheeky appearance, Myers introduced Blanc as:

“Ladies and gentleman, the field of medicine owes a debt of gratitude to this next individual. Famed neurosurgeon Dr. Drake Ramoray is here…Dr. Ramoray is a leader in the field of neuroscience, but is probably best known for falling down an elevator shaft in 1996 and being left in a potentially permanent coma with such extensive brain damage that only he himself could treat.”
“However, he was eventually brought back to life after he was given a brain transplant from a female donor, which did of course cause him to act like a woman.”

In another hilarious scene on the Friends episode "The One After the Superbowl: Part 1", one of Joey's fans, Erica, mistakes him for actual Dr. Drake Ramoray. She is later revealed to be mentally ill and thinks that she is actually Drake's girlfriend after Joey agrees to have dinner with her.

Joey's Drake arc is truly one of the most memorable on Friends.
