Bam Margera, the Jackass alum, professional skateboarder, and television personality, is back in the news. This time he has called out the Investigation Discovery show, The Curious Case of... Bam Margera, which premiered on January 13 on Max. He took to Instagram to express disappointment saying neither his consent nor interview was taken for an episode that features him in the show.
Ban Margera's life is filled with ups and downs, and the Investigation Discovery show's first episode, titled The Curious Case of... Bam Margera, gives a tour of his journey to sobriety and a controversial guardianship. The episode shows how he dealt with addiction and several mental disorders. This led him to rehab in 2009, and guardianship by Lima Jeramovic, a tech entrepreneur.
The episode of the Investigation Discovery show about Margera features interviews with different people related to his life, including Jeramovic and Jackass co-actor, Steve-O. However, there was no interview of Bam Margera or his wife Dannii Marie, and viewers are curious over Margera's non-involvement in the docuseries.
What did Bam Margera say about the Investigation Discovery show, The Curious Case of... Bam Margera?
In a black-and-white themed Instagram video, Bam Margera and his wife Dannii Marie were seen talking about the Investigation Discovery show. Bam Margera began by stating:
"Unbeknownst to us, just like you folk, we were flicking through channels only to find a 24-hour countdown to The Curious Case of... what?"
Dannii Marie joined in, saying:
"Bam Margera? Britney Spears? My two favorite people. However, I was confused about who was it really about."
Margera continued:
"It should have been called The Curious Case of Limo but nobody would have watched."
In the Instagram video the couple seemed to be in absolute shock about the aired episode, and Bam Margera says he doesn't remember giving consent for the documentary ever. He jokes that he must have been as high as "Jiminy Cricket on bathing salts in that treatment center on 18 different medications" and signed the contract.
A former reality show star, Margera expressed his concern over how the series portrays him, and criticized the use of his face without blurring it.
However, Bam Margera thanked the channel and the researchers for exposing Lima:
"Glad to see someone finally do the research to expose Lima and her f****ng n**ty behavior."
Slammed Lima and her treatment antics, Margera said he never had seizures before he met Lima:
" I am 45 years old, I have not had seizures in my lifetime until I met Lima at the age of 43 when I went into 5 seizures, 20 minutes apiece. Only to wake up 8 days on life support with a f****ng tube down my throat with Covid and pneumonia"
While Margera blamed Lima for his near-death situation, his wife Dannii Marie stated:
"And there are many questions about her (Lima)? We are very grateful that's been said and out there and you (Bam) didn't look horrible and everyone knows that he (Bam) has a happy ending and is doing great."
Before ending the two-minute Instagram video, Margera thanked Dannii and said:
" I am just glad that that part of my terrible terrible life is over and I am not dead by it."
What did Bam Margera accuse Lima Jevremovic about?
Bam Margera had a bright career when he started out, and was a well-known star on MTV's Jackass. However, his rise was overshadowed by his struggle with drug addiction, particularly after personal tragedies like the death of his close friend Ryan Dunn.
In 2021, Bam Margera entered a court-ordered conservatorship with Lima Jevremovic after repeated struggles with drug addiction. Jevremovic was the founder of Aura, a digital health platform, and she reportedly aimed to improve Margera's mental health.
In 2023, Bam Margera accused Lima Jevremovic of mishandling the conservatorship and exploiting his mental health. Margera expressed his frustration about Jevremovic's methods, and soon a legal and ethical battle was being fought between the two. The Investigation Discovery episode aims to provide an insight into the matter.
