In October 2022, CBS released Fire Country, and the show quickly became a big hit. Following the success, the network greenlit the show, and now it has completed three triumphant seasons with a fourth one in line to hit our screens.
Not only this, a new spin-off titled Sheriff Country is also on its way, featuring Bode Leone's aunt, Mickey Fox, as the main character. As of now, there's no confirmed release date for this new show, but fans can expect it soon.
Currently, viewers are excited for Fire Country Season 4 as the previous chapter ended on a cliffhanger, leaving Vince, Sharon, and Walter's lives hanging in the balance. Thankfully, CBS greenlit the show when Season 3 was ongoing, and now the next season is expected to come out later this year in September or October.
However, there have been major changes during the third season, not only in the story but also in the cast of Fire Country. Two of the main figures, Stephanie Arcila and Billy Burke, are leaving the show.
While Burke's Vince is reported to die after the Season 3 finale, Arcila's Gabby is expected to stay a recurring character as she has been a major part of Bode's life. Now that Audrey has been taken in, there might be a slight chance for Bode to rethink his ex.

Fire Country Season 4's potential release window explored

Fire Country fans can finally get excited — CBS has picked up the show for a fourth season! The release was announced in February 2025, and while the network hasn't issued a concrete premiere date yet, there is a high chance that Season 4 will premiere around late September or early October of 2025.
Most sources have indicated that the show is most likely to come back at the end of September, following the traditional fall TV schedule that CBS tends to follow. This release schedule stays in line with the way previous seasons of Fire Country were released.
So it should be simpler for viewers to know when they can see their characters again. Confirmation of the exact date is yet to come, but fans can comfortably anticipate fresh episodes illuminating CBS screens through autumn 2025.

Who will and who won't return in Fire Country Season 4?

As exciting as the renewal is, Season 4 is bringing some bittersweet changes. Two of the show's core cast members are confirmed to be leaving after Season 3 ends. Stephanie Arcila, who has portrayed Gabriela Perez throughout the series, will no longer be part of the regular cast.
However, there’s a silver lining — she may still make occasional guest appearances in future episodes, so her story isn't necessarily closed forever. Along with Arcila, Billy Burke, who plays Vince Leone, will also be departing.
His exit, much like Arcila's, ties into the major cliffhanger at the end of Season 3, which shook up the futures of several key characters. Both departures are expected to have a significant emotional impact on the storyline moving into the next season, leaving viewers curious about how the show will adjust without two major figures in the mix.
As for other characters, including Manny, Eve, Sharon, and potentially Audrey, they are expected to remain the key figures of Season 4. As seen in the Season 3 finale episode, Manny was offered to take up Jake's place while Audrey turned herself in after shooting Finn (Gabby's stalker).
What might happen in Fire Country Season 4?

Fire Country Season 4 will likely continue the emotional and action-packed story of the firefighters, especially Bode, who doesn't know if his parents and grandfather will make it out alive. The fourth chapter will explore how the main characters deal with grief and pain after the horrific fire broke out at Zebel Ridge.
Beyond the personal stories, Season 4 might also dive deeper into environmental and social issues. The aftermath of the hazardous waste dumping was discovered by Manny and Sharon can play a big role as there might be more companies like Oxalta. At the same time, Eve and the team will fight to save and rebuild the Three Rock Fire Camp.
What the creators say about major changes after Fire Country Season 3
While talking about Fire Country Season 3 and the casting decision made for Season 4, executive producers Joan Rater, Tony Phelan, and Tia Napolitano confirmed that Gabby will no longer be a main character in the story.
However, when it came to shedding light on Burke's fate in the CBS drama, Rater said:
"It really just comes down to what’s the best creatively. There’s a lot of stuff going on that we as producers juggle, but honestly, we are writers first and foremost and storytellers..."
As for Arcila's exit as a regular cast member, Tony Phelan shared:
"It was really a decision that came out of the dynamic between Bode and Gabriela; we felt like those two characters needed a reset. We love Stephanie, and we are committed to saying that the Bode-Gabriela story does not end here, it goes on."
While fans might feel sad after learning about Arcila's reduced role as Gabby, the EK explained how important it is for her to start over. Gabby has been through a lot in Season 3. From her failed marriage with Diego to facing an insane, obsessive man, she must take a break in Fire Country Season 4.
