Fire Country Season 3 returned this week with a high-stakes rescue and a new character played by Teddy Swims. Since the season premiere, the firefighters at Station 42 have faced several challenges in their personal and professional lives, and now things have gotten even more challenging.

In the previous episode, Bode's aunt Mickey returns after her father is released from prison. He starts his illegal business again and ultimately causes trouble for Bode, but the firefighter eventually learns that his parole might be affected if he keeps interacting with individuals who have criminal records.

At the same time, Sharon had been worried about the water supply at The Three Rock, as they learned that the company Oxalta is behind Birch's death and is hiding the truth. Now, in the latest episode, Bode and Manny express their disappointment with Sharon as they find out about Sharon's deal with the company.

As for others, including Jake and Gabby, the firefighters face new challenges. The Station 42 crew sets out on a rescue mission at a ski resort that was threatened by a fire.

As seen in Fire Country Season 3 Episode 17 "Fire and Ice," Sharon's bold decision changed a lot of lives, but not everyone supported her, especially her son Bode. Sharon struck a deal with Oxalta to clean up the contaminated water supply.

This deal also led to Manny's early release from prison, allowing him to be there again for his daughter Gabriella, who’d been going through a rough emotional time in Fire Country Season 3. But Manny didn’t feel like a winner.

His early release came at the cost of signing an NDA while the rest of the inmates at The Three Rock are still facing their time in prison. And worst of all, the company responsible for poisoning the fire camp and causing the death of firefighter Birch walked away untouched.

Manny and Bode were upset about the unfairness, even though good things came from it. Bode believed Oxalta deserved real consequences and decided to reach out to Renee, a lawyer who was once his dad’s high school girlfriend. She wanted to go after Oxalta, and Bode agreed to help even though they knew the company was quite powerful and could cause trouble for them.

Tension boils over at Station 42 in Fire Country Season 3 Episode 17

As the Fire Country episode continued, tension flared up at the station on multiple fronts. Sharon and Bode got into a heated argument over his involvement with Renee right in front of the crew. Jake pointed out how unprofessional it was, especially with people watching. But Jake had his own frustrations.

He felt stuck in his role and started realizing Vince didn’t really see him as a leader. Vince even allowed the ride-along without telling Jake, which made things worse in the episode. Jake really felt bitter and even discussed with Audrey that they might need to depart from Station 42 if they wished to climb the ladder in their careers.

Meanwhile, Vince was off visiting Walter at a care home, only to find out that his father was confused and mistook him for Luke. Since Vince didn't have a very good relationship with his brother, it hurt him.

However, it's nobody's fault as Walter has dementia, and all that the Leones can do is accept the reality and take care of him. This is when singer Teddy Swims's Noah shows up as a staff member of the care home and encourages Vince to stay hopeful and make new memories with Walter.

Fire Country episodes are incomplete without life-threatening rescue missions, and in Episode 17, a dangerous situation unfolded at a ski resort where several people were trapped on the mountain. The crew was sent in, with Sharon in charge, but things got intense again.

Finn noticed smoke and alerted Sharon. A wildfire had broken out nearby, and Sharon decided to perform a water dump to stop it. But there was a catch: the dump could trigger an avalanche, putting the trapped people at risk. Bode had another plan, but Sharon wouldn’t listen as she was still angry from their earlier fight.

Jake stepped up. He ignored Sharon’s orders. Not for glory or promotion, but simply because it would save lives. The rescue was successful, but Jake paid the price. Sharon suspended him for disobeying a direct order, even though she later admitted he was right. She also apologized to Bode, realizing the firefighters were just trying to do what was right.

Apart from the Leone family's conflicts and the ski resort rescue mission, Fire Country Season 3 Episode 17 also explores Gabby's relationship with Finn. She was hopeful about starting a new chapter with him, and the two finally kissed.

However, things went downhill quickly. Finn got too intense, too fast. He overwhelmed her with clingy behavior, something highly unexpected. Gabby realized she wasn’t ready for something serious and confided in Audrey about it.

As for the fight against Oxalta, it wasn’t over. Despite telling his mom he would back off, Bode contacted Renee again. Manny also joined the cause and officially hired her.

They were ready to take legal action against the company, even though Renee warned it would be messy. Meanwhile, Jake was left considering a move to another station, possibly leaving Station 42 behind for a fresh start.
