Fire Country Season 3 Episode 13 Recap: Bode struggles with guilt and addiction

Fire Country Season 13 Episode 13, 'My Team,' opened with Bode working hard at his family bar and is startled to see Rafael's ghost saying "You couldn't save me". Bode tells him that he tried his best and now feels guilty about the doctor's death.
Turns out it was a nightmare, and when Gabby asks him, Bode brushes off her concern. Witnessing Rafael's demise in the previous episode, Bode encounters the painful memories of her sister's passing, which eventually leads Bode on a darker path.
Similar to Rafael's case, Bode tried to save his sister, but her fate was sealed. It took him time to recover from the pain and Rafael's death triggered those feelings. Since this was opening his old wounds, Bode started withdrawing from loved ones by working nonstop and sleeping at the station.
Even though he told Gabby that he was all right, she knew he wasn't. Bode's turmoil was further complicated when he had to respond to a fire at a high school baseball field. For those who might have forgotten, Bode was once a passionate baseball player.
However, he sustained an injury that introduced him to painkillers and led to his addiction. Not only this, but Bode then ran into Drew, the guy responsible for his injury in the past. At this moment, all his painful memories came back.
Drew, being a high school coach, starts feeling superior in front of Bode and tells him that he isn't a hero but a "loser". Drew's arrogance leads to a brief clash, which could have escalated further if Vince and Bode's uncle hadn't stopped them.
Later in the Fire Country Season 3 Episode 13, Gabby tells Luke about Bode's past. Concerned about him, Luke advises Bode to face the truth about his choice of addiction. This was something that Bode wasn't ready to accept, but he eventually had to.
Who caused the fire in Fire Country Season 3 Episode 13?

While the Station 42 firefighters tackled the blaze at the high school, their quest didn't end there. It was revealed that Nolan, the high school's team’s starting pitcher had started the fire as he has been lately blamed for the losses. This resulted in constant pressure, and to escape, he ignited the fire.
Things got worse when Noland ended up inside a drain pipe in Fire Country Season 3 Episode 13. Drew's anger intensified but Bode asked him to help instead of blaming the coach.
Bode could feel Nolan's struggle as he too struggled in the past. Soon, The Three Rock was called for help, but one of their inmates Birch was ill. Yet, they managed to rescue Nolan, and Drew felt relieved as the kid was saved.
Later in the Fire Country Season 3 episode, Drew had a bottle of painkillers, the same medicine that led Bode towards addiction. This moment was crucial for Bode as it reminded him of his past struggle.
Jake's possible new love interest and Vince's ex returns in Fire Country Season 3 Episode 13

Another key plot in Fire Country Season 3 Episode 13 was Jake's interaction with a student's older sister. The woman had recently faced a divorce and seemed interested in Jake. However, Cara's loss has kept him away from dating and trying to find love again.
Despite the pain, Jake eventually opened up about his fiancee's death, hinting he is ready for a new relationship. Meanwhile, Vince's ex returns to his life, and Sharon is disappointed to learn that Vince first proposes to Renee.
The firefighter had a conversation with his wife and told Sharon that he only loves her and will always. Renne was just a past mistake, and she should think of it that way only.
The episode ends with the heartbreaking loss of the Three Rock inmate, Birch, as he avoided seeking medical attention. Birch feared that he would end up in prison permanently but eventually died. This tragic loss highlights the harsh realities faced by incarcerated firefighters.
