Fire Country Season 3 has premiered on CBS, finally answering the burning questions that were left unanswered in the previous season’s finale. The new episodes continue the story of Bode Donovan, the former convict who assists Cal Fire in his hometown in Northern California.

The second season, which concluded in May 2024, largely focussed on Bode finding his calling and his love triangle with Gabriela and Diego. In the final sequence of season 2, Gabriela is about to get married to Diego.

But, she hesitated in saying ‘I do’ after walking down the aisle, realizing her feelings for Bode. The finale ended on a cliffhanger, and the audience was eager to know if Gabriela would exchange her vows with Diego.

The season 3 premiere episode, What the Bride Said, opened up with the wedding sequence, but before Gabriela could say anything, the debris from a helicopter crash hit the venue, and the attendees had to be rescued. Here is the full recap of Fire Country Season 3 Episode 1.

Though Gabriela agreed to marry Diego in the previous season, she still had some apprehensions. At the altar, she feels unsure about her decision and is in a dilemma about whether to make this lifelong commitment to a man she is not sure she loves.

Meanwhile, seeing Bode leave the venue confuses her even more about her feelings. When a helicopter crashes near the church, it gives her a reason to stall the wedding. Gabriela and others rush to the crash site to help the victims, where she finally talks to Bode about why he left the wedding.

While helping a helicopter pilot who thinks they are a married couple, Gabriela admits that their kiss made her feel alive again. Bode, who had been telling her to stay with Diego for a stable life, starts to realize he has feelings for her too.

When Diego arrives, he can feel the awkwardness between them. Gabriela finally tells him about the kiss, confirming what Diego had feared all along.

Rick returned to Edgewater in Fire Country season 3, which will have a huge impact on Jake and Gen’s relationship. Jake has already faced a lot since Bode came back, including the loss of his girlfriend Cara in a tragic accident. Now, he is the guardian of Cara’s 12-year-old daughter, Gen.

Just when things seem to settle down, a helicopter crash traps Gen with Rick, who was Jake’s high school rival. Jake discovers that Rick might be Gen’s biological father, making their relationship complicated.

After they are rescued, Rick shares that he came back because he believes Gen is his daughter and wants to be part of her life. This shocks Jake, who has worked hard to take care of Gen.

While Rick says he doesn’t want to interfere with their bond, he also doesn’t plan to walk away from his daughter. This could lead to a difficult custody battle between Rick and Jake. On the other hand, Rick’s connection to Cara might help Jake and Gen learn more about her life.

Last season, Manny accepted the consequences of punching Luke at the firefighter banquet and turned himself in to the police. While being taken for processing, a helicopter crash caused the squad car he was in to crash as well.

With the two officers unconscious, Manny convinces Sharon to uncuff him, so he can help control the fire while she and Vince attend to the injured officers. Even though Manny promises to stay close, new police officers arrive at the scene and are not happy to see him free.

Sharon had already stepped in to let Manny walk Gabriela down the aisle before his arrest. However, by allowing Manny to help during the emergency, she and Vince broke the law. While Sharon argues that Manny should be allowed to assist, it might put them all in a tough spot with the authorities.

Fire Country Season 3 airs on Fridays at 9 PM ET/PT on CBS.
