An alleged ghost encounter on set, a peculiar home improvement project, and two celebrities looked shocked in different ways.

“I was completely terrified.” That was Kelly Clarkson’s candid reaction as Stranger Things actor Finn Wolfhard and she swapped spine-tingling ghost stories during a recent installment of The Kelly Clarkson Show. What started as a light banter took a supernatural turn as both celebrities shared unsettling experiences that were, at least, frightening.

No longer a stranger to the supernatural at 22, Wolfhard, who has spent countless hours fighting fictional foes, kicked off the storytelling session by narrating his hair-raising incident he experienced during his early teenage years.

“When I was 13, and I was on set shooting at this kind of haunted mansion,” he began, “I walked upstairs to the top floor, and there was just a guy in all black who was just setting wires up… like putting cables together…”

In a classic “thought everyone on set was a part of the movie crew” move, Wolfhard relayed a “sighting” to the production team. Their reply? No one was upstairs!

Clarkson was at the receiving end of a “stunned” jaw drop while the singer and host let out a hushed, wide-eyed “No”. Wolfhard went on to explain how this incident occurred during the filming of the 2017 horror blockbuster IT when he portrayed the comical character Richie Tozier.

“It could have been someone just messing around, but, yeah, it was pretty scary,” he told PEOPLE in a previous interview.

Equally as innocent, Clarkson revealed a spectral story of her own that relates to a previous residence in Texas.

“I used to have this house in Texas and there were people doing, like, painting, or doing renovations inside,” Clarkson said. “And a couple of them didn’t speak English, and they kept telling my friend… ‘Can you please tell the little girl to stop coming in? We’re afraid she’s gonna touch the paint.’”

Confused, Clarkson maintained there were no kids on the property. But the workers were stubborn.

“They’re like, ‘Yeah, the little girl with the long [hair],’” she continued.

A disturbing finding later verified that a young girl had died on the land many years prior. While she has never seen a spirit, Clarkson confessed the narrative had left her spooked.

“And then I was completely terrified of my house,” she said. “I probably looked so crazy, ‘cause if people could see me, I was like, ‘I’m cool if you’re here if you’re cool that I’m here! We’re fine, right?… I’m so sorry [about] whatever happened. It wasn’t me!’”

Both celebrities have a personal connection to the paranormal, Wolfhard especially due to his breakout parts in projects like Stranger Things, It, and Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Most recently, he directed Hell of a Summer, a slasher film which opened earlier this month.

On the other hand, Clarkson is more familiar with the warm embrace of the limelight as opposed to the cold grip of the supernatural. That said, she did lean into the spooky moment, putting forth a spirited and comical spin on the psychological horror.

As Wolfhard was reminiscing about the past ghosts, fans are very excited to remember one of the familiar ghosts: Stranger Things. The series that gained popularity on Netflix is now in the middle of shooting the much-awaited season five, the last one in the series, and filming is currently ongoing at a record pace and fueling ultimate expectations.

Although details are frustratingly sparse, The Duffer Brothers have hinted at a bit sweet, as well as action maniac farewell to the Upside Down. It is supposed to be an “unforgettable” closing for Wolfhard’s Mike Wheeler and character with the rest of the Hawkins crew, and for them, it will be a climactic end to the remarkable adventure they have been part of for almost a decade now.
