Final Season of Stranger Things finally wraps filming: Reports

Stranger Things fans can enjoy this holiday season a little more happily as season 5 of the Netflix sci-fi show has finished filming. The official X handle of Stranger Things updated fans on the status of the show with a post, saying,

“That’s a wrap on Stranger Things. See you in 2025.”

Along with this announcement, a bunch of behind-the-scenes photos have also been posted, featuring the cast and crew members.

Since its debut in 2016, Stranger Things has successfully kept the fans hooked to the show. As the show is now officially coming to an end with its fifth season, let us now explore all that is known as Stranger Things Season 5.

Stranger Things Season 5 has wrapped up filming

While the shooting of Stranger Things Season 5 was supposed to begin in 2023 but got postponed because of the writers’ strike, it has finally wrapped up. The Duffer Brothers shared some pictures and a post, saying,

“We’ve been telling this story for nearly a decade now. Many of our cast members joined us when they were kids, just ten or eleven years old. It wasn’t just a show for them — it was a defining part of their childhood. They’ve grown up before our eyes, becoming more than actors—they’ve become family. But it’s not just the cast we consider family.”

Finn Wolfhard, who played the role of Mike in Stranger Things, also shared his own thoughts on the series as it comes to a close along with a picture. His post read,

“We just wrapped Stranger things Season 5. I’m still in shock. We shot it for a year and I’ll miss all of my friends and our characters terribly. When I think of the show, I picture this first photo. A bunch of goofy young people making something they think is cool but really have no clue what’s to come. I feel like we’re still those people and I’m lucky to still stand beside them today. I hope you’ll love this season as much as I do. See you all next year.”

While the cast had already celebrated their wrap-up party on December 14, 2024, these posts came after they were done shooting their final scenes, which marked the official ending to the shooting of Stranger Things Season 5.

Who is in the cast of Stranger Things Season 5?

Stranger Things Season 5 features an ensemble cast consisting of David Harbour as Jim Hopper, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, and Noah Schnapp as Will Byers.

Sadie Sink plays Max Mayfield with Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers, Priah Ferguson as Erica Sinclair, Joe Keery as Steve Harrington, Cara Buono as Karen Wheeler, and Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler.

There are also new additions to the cast members, including Alex Breaux, Linda Hamilton, Nell Fisher, and Jake Connelly.

What will Stranger Things Season 5 be about?

Not much is known about the Stranger Things Season 5 plot. However, Matt and Ross Duffer, the series creators had told Tudum in an interview that they would be delving into the lore of Upside Down that they wrote for season 1,

“We were like, ‘We know what’s going on in the Upside Down, more or less, but we want it to be unknowable. We want it to be mysterious.’ But they were like, ‘Yeah, but can you write it down?’ And so we wrote it all down.”

Besides this, not much is known about the plot. However, the episode count and the name of each episode have been revealed and there will be 8 episodes. The names of the episodes are as follows:
