Episode 5 of Love is Blind: Germany went live on Netflix on January 10, and it brings a heart-breaking conclusion to Tolga and Shila's journey. From the beginning, the couple struggled to establish common ground, with emotional closeness and a physical relationship. Despite their early spark in the pods, cracks began to appear as they entered the real world, where misunderstandings and hidden emotions took a toll on them.
In this episode, Tolga reveals his emotions, saying that he feels "totally empty" in the relationship. Later the two decide to talk about the future of their relationship, while Tolga expresses how he wants to end things, Shila reveals how she started liking him. However, she, too, admits that their connection isn't what she expected, resulting in a painful breakup.
Tolga and Shila's journey on Love is Blind: Germany comes to a heartbreaking end as they confront their emotional separation. Despite their attempts, in episode 5, Tolga expresses how he felt towards his partner during their honeymoon.
"This is a beautiful place and we should be able to enjoy our vacation together. But here, it just felt heavy and oppressive, rather than carefree and lighthearted," he reveals.
He then shares how he has been feeling with Shila, saying,
"I'd like to be able to sit down here and say to you, "Hey, I feel just like I did in the pods... or at the reveal, or when we got engaged." But I don't feel anything now. I feel totally empty inside." He continues, "You know, I look at the other couples... They all seem to be carefree and light-hearted. But for me, right now, this just feels so heavy. And a lot of pressure and our connection we had in the pods just seem to fade a little day by day."
"I just really want to... leave, replies Shila as she walks back to their room.
Love is Blind: Germany star Tolga and Shila part ways
The next day, the Love is Blind: Germany couple once again sits down to discuss what they think is the right thing to do. Tolga shares how his feelings for Shila have changed since their engagement and how it is getting very difficult for him to deal with. He says,
"I came here to fall in love and to develop feelings for someone, and it's important to me, to be honest with you and to tell you that the feelings I had at the reveal, in the pods, that I had here on the first day... that I don't feel that way anymore. And that has been incredibly difficult to deal with."
"I didn't think it would turn out this way. I've really tried to stay positive. Really positive. Everything felt genuine and right, you know, and exactly the way things should be," expresses Shila.
Tolga further expresses how he thinks even though the two share similar personalities, he doesn't have strong feelings for the Love is Blind: Germany star, and the two share an emotional last hug before breaking things off.
Later when Tolga meets the group before he leaves, Hanni tells him how Hannah would have been a perfect partner for him. The fans can anticipate that he might try and work things out with her.
