Here is the official synopsis:
“Welcome back to Shadyside. In this next installment of the blood-soaked Fear Street franchise, prom season at Shadyside High is underway and the school’s wolfpack of It Girls is busy with its usual sweet and vicious campaigns for the crown. But when a gutsy outsider is unexpectedly nominated to the court, and the other girls start mysteriously disappearing, the class of ’88 is suddenly in for one hell of a prom night.”
Fear Street: Prom Queen's just like the title suggests, showcases a group of teenage girls preparing for their high school Prom Queen event. The tension rises when an outsider who is not among the popular people of the school gets nominated for the Prom Queen court. This nomination threatens the status quo, causing friction between the established "It Girls" of the school, who typically dominate the social scene, and the newcomer who dares to challenge them.
As the rivalry between the popular and the outside girls escalates, the top five nominees start to disappear and are found murdered brutally. The protagonist Lizzie is among them and attempts to find out the truth.
