FBI Season 7 is finally returning with Episode 9, titled Descent, after a wait of almost two months, on CBS on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 8:00 PM ET.

The upcoming episode will be a race against time for the team as they investigate the death of a US Attorney. The official logline for the episode reads as follows:

Soon, the team will realize that the death is connected to airline whistleblowers and a terrorist conspiracy that is about to crash many commercial airlines. With thousands of lives on the line, FBI agents must race against time to piece together all the clues and stop this crash.

In addition, the case will trigger Stuart Scola's memories of the tragic death of his brother.

What happened in FBI Season 7 Episode 8?

Since the show will be back after a break, here is a little refresher on what happened in Season 7 Episode 8. The episode was action-packed, especially for OA, who was directly against his long-time friend Clay Voss in the finale.

The episode starts with various gunmen trying to steal a cargo worth Gold bullion worth $25 million from the airport. The robbery goes haywire, and many federal agents are killed.

The cargo was in charge of a firm, Second Point Capital, led by Danny Chun. The team successfully tracks down one of the gunmen, but he is found dead with a trail of bodies, including Chun. OA figures out that his long-time friend Clay, who works in corporate espionage, was at the scene.

OA talks with Clay off the books and the latter reveals that Second Point Capital contacted his firm to find out who was behind the robbery.

Upon further investigation, the team found out that many police officers from Suffolk County were involved in the robbery because their pension fund was invested in Second Capital, which the company lost. So, they decided to rob them of this gold.

OA sends Clay undercover to the police officers, but in the end, he double-crosses OA by claiming that this gold will let him retire and that he should be allowed to run with it. While Clay is OA's good friend, he does not let this come in the way of his profession and shoots him.
