One of the fans, belle_epoxy, wrote:

"You were fantastic! A great player and really charming on TV. Don't beat yourself for even a single thing. Also, I've heard about Loose Ends before and it was so lovely to hear about it from you as a volunteer! Such a wonderful organization."

Another fan, KubelsKitchen, supported Alicia by sharing:

"You were great! I had to pause the game half way through to text my mom about you and your volunteer job. That's something I think she'd love to start in our area. And a very creative way to bring comfort to people. Congrats on a good game. I was cheering for you."

One more Reddit user, CYSDT, commented:

"Oh my gosh—you did not make a fool of yourself at all!! You played an awesome game and I was cheering you on from the jump. Don't let any armchair wagering experts take away from the exciting comeback you put on in Double Jeopardy. Congrats on a great showing!"

Another fan, JilanasMom, wrote:

"What a generous, wonderful post! You came across as quite intelligent and this post confirms your kindness. I hope you make it to the Second Chance Tournament! It worked for my daughter!"

Aimeeheath wrote in support of Alicia Buffa:

"Alicia, first of all - you most definitely did not make a fool of yourself! You were poised, impressive, and so fun to watch. A really great game for all three of you that I was so happy to see!!"

A former Jeopardy! participant Jeopardiandra (Diandra D'Alessio) shared how she went through a similar score on the game show and appreciated Alicia for her performance. She wrote:

"Alicia, you did great! This was such a fun game to watch. Like you, I also had a hard time deciding my FJ wager—after all the adrenaline of the Jeopardy rounds wears off, it's not easy, and I asked to change my wager before locking in. But in the end, even if I went all in, I still would've been beaten by a dollar. So it goes!"

She continued:

"I'm happy to hear you had a great experience on J! overall, and I loved your anecdote. As an aside, it's always nice to see more Montrealers on the Alex Trebek Stage, so I admittedly rooted for you. Congrats to you, Joseph, and Greg on a great game!"

For the Jeopardy! episode from October 31, 2024, one of the participants, Alicia Buffa, opened up about her experience on the show and shared how everything went on the Reddit discussion board.

She shared about her fellow participants, who were "friendly."

Alicia shared that:

"Sense of camaraderie was refreshing and made me far less nervous than I had anticipated. And the entire J! staff was lovely, too. They helped put us all at ease, and they did their best to accommodate my mother, who was in the audience and has mobility issues."

Further, the female participant talked about what happened during the Final Jeopardy:

"What was up with my boneheaded wager in FJ? Well, the tl;dr version can be summarized in two words: I panicked. Although I'm a pretty anxious person, I was completely fine most of the game, until it came time to calculate our FJ wagers."

She mentioned that when "everything hit her," her hands shook. Despite preparing for wagering strategies, almost a week before the filming day, everything "got tossed out," and her imposter syndrome kicked in.

The Jeopardy! star further shared about losing all confidence and how she has been "too shy," which has become her "own worst" enemy. She appreciated her "fantastic experience" and added that she was grateful. She mentioned her fellow competitors as "class acts."
