There's no doubt that the upcoming fifth and final season of Stranger Things will be the biggest Netflix outing to date. In the absence of an official release date, it is expected that the fifth and final season of Stranger Things will drop sometime in 2025.
Ahead of the release of Stranger Things season five and building up the hype, actor Caleb McLaughlin was recently reported by an X page called Stranger Things Updates to have dropped a few revealing details about the upcoming season.
Caleb McLaughlin, who plays the character of Lucas on Stranger Things, recently spoke in a panel where he commented on details from the upcoming show. Regarding Lumax in the fifth season, he stated:
"I don't remember seeing Sadie that much, but then I remember do seeing her much.”
When asked about the relationship shared between Lucas and Erica in the fifth season, McLaughlin commented:
"I did see her on set. I love our sibling dynamic. I love Priah.”
He further revealed that his favorite character from the show is Nancy and that he considered Finn to be "a walking blooper."

Caleb McLaughlin opens up about his experience of growing up with Stranger Things
Caleb McLaughlin has been a part of the Netflix show ever since the beginning of the celebrated Netflix show. He was just thirteen years old at the time of his first joining the show. In a Collider interview with Christina Radish from May 2023, McLaughlin opened up extensively about his experience of growing up with the long-running show. He revealed:
"I’m looking forward to just, of course, seeing the cast again and getting back together. I grew up on the show, and when I see them, I feel like I’m my 13-year-old self again, having fun on set, being naive, and just living in this fun world. And then, the thing that I’m dreading is that this will be the last one. Stranger Things has been a big part of my life. Even if I hated being on the show, I would miss it because I was such a kid, when I first came onto the show, and I grew up on the show through my adolescent years. I’m an adult now. I’m 21. So, it was a big part of my life. I grew up on the show, so it’s gonna be sad when it’s all over."
What's the latest buzz around Stranger Things season 5?
Netflix confirmed on December 20, 2024, that production on season five had finally ended. The streaming platform giant commemorated the completion of filming the final season by sharing ten never-before-seen behind-the-scenes images of the actors and staff on its site.
Filming for the Netflix show's fifth season was originally supposed to start in May 2023. However, in the first week of May that year, the Writers Guild of America went on strike. Only a few weeks later, the Screen Actors Guild went on strike as well, suspending production on both ends for more than a hundred and forty days.
Finn Wolfhard, who plays the character of Mike Wheeler, revealed to People Magazine in October of last year:
"We're almost done shooting. It's going great, and it has been unbelievable. It's been very special. I mean, being able to just be with everyone knowing it is the last season has been really great, but it's pretty surreal.”
All the previous seasons of Stranger Things are available on Netflix.
