Love is Blind Habibi couple Asma and Khatab had the most unique journey throughout the season. They got along from the first date. Asma found Khatab cool and expressed to have future dates with him in the pods. Khatab was equally curious to know more about Asma. Asma also connected briefly with Mido and Karim, but it was unfruitful.

Asma and Khatab decided they were the one for each other and got engaged in episode 3 of Love is Blind Habibi. When they met in person, Asma felt unsure and nervous about her decision. They decided to part ways and think about the decision more; hence, they did not join the rest of the five coupes for the holiday. That was not the end of their journey on the show. Asma and Khatab joined the engaged couple on the holiday destination midway through the show.

Asma and Khatab were among the three couples who witnessed the moment of truth by walking down the aisle. Notwithstanding the decision to get married, Asma said no when the hosts, Elham Ali and Khalid Saqr, asked whether she would accept Khatab as her husband.

Both chimed in about the decision and concluded they wanted to take things slowly. Asma's parents did not attend the wedding, which made Asma say no to Khatab in the finale episode of Love is Blind Habibi.

Why Asma said no to Khatab at the altar in Love is Blind Habibi?

Asma Sami, a 33-year-old entrepreneur from Egypt, wanted to find her soulmate through this 'crazy experiment.' She subscribed to the philosophy of Love is Blind Habibi and wanted to meet strangers to find the one. Khatab, on the other hand, was too busy in his life and, therefore, blamed it for his singlehood. Both connected via pods from the very first go and found numerous similarities.

After a rollercoaster journey that comprised getting past all the distractions, getting engaged, parting ways, and then rejoining the show to take the final plunge, the wedding, the couple saw it all but somehow could not get their happy ending. The couple stood at the altar, dressed gracefully for their wedding, hosted by Elham Ali and Khalid Saqr. When posed with the ultimate question, Asma stood on shaking ground and said no to the wedding.

Asma left the altar to find some fresh air and told the cameras:

"This moment is one of the hardest things I have done. When I did not find my parents, I felt like it was so hard, so hard, and we needed to get my parents' blessings. I had a hope that I would get my parents' blessings."

She also confessed that it was heavy on her part to say no to Khatab, but she wanted him to meet her parents and go forward accordingly. She affirmed to Khatab that the no was not to him but for the marriage.

Khatam was disheartened by the no and told Asma that he had high expectations at the altar. But he respected her decision and promised to visit her parents in Canada and ask for their permission and blessings as the traditional way goes.

The couple confided in each other and assured that they were in the right place by saying:

"We did the right thing."

Love is Blind Habibi premiered on October 10, and all nine episodes are available for viewers to stream on Netflix.
