HBO's Oscar-nominated docu-series Eyes on the Prize III is back with its third installment on February 25, 2025.
The docu-series chronicles the civil rights movement in the US and how it has shaped the lives of the people living there. The third installment will have six episodes, directed by Geeta Gandbhir, Samantha Knowles, Smriti Mundhra, Asako Gladsjo, Muta’Ali, and Rudy Valdez, respectively.
The docu-series will follow the interviews of activists and public figures personally involved in the civil rights movement and will also include archival footage from those movements.
Henry Hampton created Eyes on the Prize III: We Who Believe in Freedom Cannot Rest from 1977 to 2015 through his company, Blackside.

Eyes on the Prize III will debut on HBO on February 25, 2025, at 9 pm ET/PT. The episodes will also be available to stream on Max. The official synopsis of the docu-series, as confirmed by Max reads as follows:

Exploring the episodes in Eyes on the Prize III

Across the six episodes of the docu-series, many activists and public figures will be featured in Eyes on the Prize III, as confirmed by Max.
Episode 1 will focus on fair housing and the AIDS crisis. It will feature community activists like Robert Foster, Carol Waring, Leon Potts, former Bronx borough president Fernando Ferrer, AIDS activists Tyrone Smith, David Fair, and many more.
Episode 2, which will follow the criminal justice system in Washington, D.C., will feature Activists Aqeela Sherrills and Skipp Townsend and public defender Kim Taylor-Thompson.
Episode 3 will follow the controversy surrounding the Million Man March in Washington, D.C., and will feature Former NAACP executive director Dr. Benjamin F. Chavis, march attendees Bobby Sykes and Ron Thompson, activist Reverend Al Sharpton, and many more.
Episode 4 will follow the environmental justice movement in West Virginia and Florida and feature United Church of Christ commissioner for racial justice Dr. Benjamin Chavis, activists Sue Ferguson Davis, Pam Dixon, and many more.
Episode 5 will follow the action policies of school desegregation and will feature UCLA School of Law professor Kimberlé Crenshaw, University of Michigan Law School professor Ted Shaw, former school board members Keith Sutton and John Tedesco, and many more.
Episode 6 will follow the Black Lives Matter Movement and will feature Organizers Jonathan Lykes, Nelini Stamp, Black Lives Matter (BLM) co-founders Alicia Garza and Patrisse Cullors, BlackOUT Collective co-director Chinyere Tutashinda and many more.
