“Everybody changes over time”: When The White Lotus star Patrick Schwarzenegger revealed he may not stick to acting forever

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son, Patrick Schwarzenegger, has made quite a name for himself in Hollywood with projects like Gen V, The Staircase, and Midnight Sun under his belt. His most recent role includes the character of Saxon Ratliff in The White Lotus Season 3.

While he has his acting career going strong, when asked if he would consider acting for the rest of his life, he mentioned to Variety,

“I think everybody changes over time. My dad went from bodybuilding to acting to business to politics. It’s very possible that happens in my life. But for right now, I love acting.”

While his words do leave a chance of him exploring more career opportunities in the future, for now his focus seems to be completely on acting. His character in Mark White’s The White Lotus is quite complicated, and with the events of episode 5, he now seems to be a more interesting and complex character.

Patrick Schwarzenegger might consider something besides acting going forward

Talking about how he might go in a different trajectory in the future, Patrick Schwarzenegger mentioned to Variety,

“I’m not a believer that you have to choose one path in life and stick on that forever. I think that’s old forms of thinking. My dad bent those rules, and always taught us that you can do anything in life as long as you’re passionate about it. I think you’re seeing that with more and more people today, whether that’s the Rock or Wahlberg or Kevin Hart.”

It should also be noted here that besides acting, Schwarzenegger is already into modelling. Talking about his modelling career, Schwarzenegger mentioned in the same Variety interview,

“I had done some modeling shoots in the past when I first started acting. And I still do. I just did Calvin Klein, which was amazing. That’s something that’s awesome, to work with a brand that’s historic.”

He further added,

“Or Tom Ford — to work with someone like Tom who is a visionary not only in the fashion space, but in the film industry. But I never had an interest to be a runway model or walk down the catwalk.”

When he was asked if he would consider politics as an alternative career choice, Schwarzenegger seemed open to that as well, saying that he really will not say no to anything, as he believes that he might get into anything.

Patrick Schwarzenegger plays Saxon Ratliff in The White Lotus

Saxon is the eldest of the Ratliff children in The White Lotus Season 3 and his character is a typical finance bro who likes to drink smoothies, watch porn videos, and also observe the sex life of his siblings.

While his character always brought a strange and uneasy vibe, episode 5 really broke the roof with the kiss that happened between him and his brother, Lochlan. Talking about the same, Schwarzenegger told Today.com that this is the scene, which is indicative of the fact that more is going to be revealed about Saxon’s character.

He also mentioned that Mark White wanted the feeling of unease to run through the audience, and that is why the kissing scene between the brothers was shot that way. He also mentioned that since the White Lotus experience essentially changes someone as a person, that essentially holds true for Saxon, adding,

“And I think that’s something that’s really relevant and prevalent for Saxon. Him walking into the White Lotus as the most confident and sure person of who he is, and everything gets completely questioned in his experience there.”

With three more episodes left for the series to wrap up its third season, it now remains to be seen what new revelations come regarding Saxon and how that affects the overall storyline.
