The Studio is an upcoming Apple TV+ satirical-comedy show created and led by Seth Rogen. The Studio aims to find comical cracks amidst the establishment of the fictional Continental Studios and chronicle the day-to-day struggles of its newly appointed head Matt Remick, played by Seth Rogen, as he tries his best to bring his own idea of making artistic movies with the exigencies of the Hollywood business.

As can be expected, The Studio is replete with celebrity cameos and guest appearances including Martin Scorsese, Zoë Kravitz, and Adam Scott. The series also features Catherine O'Hara, Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders, and Kathryn Hahn in prominent roles.

Here's everything that we know.

The Studio trailer and cameo details explained

The Apple TV+ show aims high while trying its best to portray the fleeting world of modern-day Hollywood where it's seemingly impossible to manifest one goal Matt has set for himself i.e. to make movies that are both artistically solid and do well at the box office. To do so, the show's creators have roped in cameo appearances from stalwarts such as Martin Scorsese, Zoë Kravitz, and Adam Scott. Even Olivia Wilde can be seen making an appearance.

The cameos assume added significance when played out in the narrative's context. They lend authenticity and establish the daily struggles of being a Hollywood studio executive who is at once torn between several directions, meeting several people in meetings that hold the potential to make or break careers.

The trailer begins by establishing the greatest fear Matt now has:

"I love movies, but now I have this fear that my job is to ruin them."

Interestingly, the David Krumholtz character deciphers the absurdity of Matt's goals and verily warns him:

"Matt, I get it, you wanna make great art and make a billion dollars doing it. Well guess what — that never happens, and you're gonna screw everything up trying to make it happen."

But on the other hand, there is a silver lining after all as Catherine O'Hara's character reminds Matt at one point:

"The job makes you stressed and panicked and miserable. But when it all comes together and you make a good movie, it's good forever."

What is The Studio all about?

The official Apple TV+ synopsis for the show describes that the narrative will focus on Matt and his inner circle of studio executives who are often caught between appeasing "narcissistic artists and craven corporate overlords" in the all-too-exhausting pursuit of making films.

The Studio airs exclusively on Apple TV+ on March 26.
