Every MCU project that came out in 2024, ranked

Deadpool & Wolverine

Deadpool & Wolverine deserves to be at the top of the list because this highly anticipated film delivered what it promised. The fans loved the duo and the numerous cameos in the film gave them a nostalgia trip as well.

The film has collected over $1.3 billion worldwide and that alone says how successful the film has been. Besides being a high-voltage actioner, the film also had its moments of emotional high. One such moment comes with Wolverine’s car monologue where he almost destroys Deadpool with his words.

In the monologue, he mentions how Deadpool’s inability to die is actually a cruel joke of God that affects the people around him because Deadpool, who can’t even save his relationship with a stripper, cannot obviously think that he is capable of saving the world.

These words hurt Deadpool worse than Wolverine’s sharp claws ever could and this moment stood out in the film because of the emotional intensity it delivers and also because it shows Jackman's skills as an actor.

Another high point of Deadpool & Wolverine came with every scene that showed Gambit, played by Channing Tatum. Since Tatum waited for a solo Gambit movie since 2014, when the character was introduced, this movie meant a huge deal for Tatum and the results were something neither the makers nor the actors could predict.

Gambit became a hero in his own right in Deadpool & Wolverine and gave rise to a meme fest, one of the certified indicators of a character’s success in times of social media.

Deadpool & Wolverine can be streamed on Disney+.

Agatha All Along

Next comes the Marvel show Agatha All Along, which also resonated with the fans. Starring Kathryn Hahn and Aubrey Plaza as the leads, Agatha All Along tells the story of Agatha, after she realized how she was a prisoner of Wanda, which also had affected and took away her powers.

The show was loved by the fans and both Plaza and Hahn were lauded for their performances. Their love story and the establishment of Agatha’s villain arc took the show to the next level.

Besides the central two characters, Agatha All Along also had other characters who impacted the storyline. For instance, when Lilia Calderu (Patti LuPone) finally understood her powers and made sense of her ability to see fragments of her future, it created a powerful moment in the show.

Agatha All Along can be streamed on Disney+.

X-Men '97

Next comes X-Men '97, another series and this time it’s an animated one. Created by Beau DeMayo, the show follows a bunch of mutants who protect a world that’s really hostile to them.

Based on Marvel comics, the show had Cal Dodd voice the character with Wolverine along with Ray Chase and Ross Marquand voicing Cyclops and Professor X, respectively. The show, upon its release, became a hit with both the audience and the critics and the first episode of X-Men '97 became the most-watched full-length animated series on Disney+, a position which was previously taken by What If...? in 2021.

X-Men '97 can be streamed on Disney+.

What If…? Season 3

Another animated series from the house of Marvel, What If…? returned for its third and final season. However, despite not standing up to the expectations of the fans as many found it to be rather disappointing, the series managed to impress the critics.

With episodes like the Hulk fighting the Avengers and the presence of characters like Agatha, they had great potential and some episodes did stand out. The series came to an end with huge fights and also brought about some of the most heartbreaking deaths of the franchise.

The final episode of What If…? Season 3 shows the Watcher getting a judgment from Eminence, his mentor, for the times he got himself entangled in the matters of the mortals.

What If...? can be streamed on Disney+.

Echo

The last one on the list is also another show from Marvel, titled Echo. A spin-off of another series Hawkeye (2021), Echo follows a character from the Marvel Comics of the same name.

Echo sees Maya Lopez leaving New York and returning to her hometown because Wilson Fisk’s men are after her in the city. Alaqua Cox, who also starred in Hawkeye as Maya Lopez makes her return in Echo.

Her performance was one of the most appreciated aspects of the show as it was received with mixed responses by both viewers and critics. A lot of criticism came in terms of storytelling and the fighting sequences, which the fans felt were not choreographed properly.

One of the most interesting things about Echo is that it happens to be the first Marvel Spotlight project, which means that though the show is a part of the existing MCU, it can also tell a story on its own.

Echo can be streamed on Disney+.
