Every Marvel villain officially introduced in the MCU's new Spider-Man universe

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man has just two episodes left, which will be available next week. When the show was announced in 2021, it was supposed to be set in the MCU continuity. That is, it was supposed to function as the origin tale for Tom Holland's interpretation of Spider-Man before we met him in Captain America: Civil War. But that changed, and the series is now set in a different universe.

The series follows Peter Parker in high school as he navigates superhero crime fighting and high school. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man introduces us to numerous classic Spider-Man characters, including his dangerous foes. Be it classic or fairly recent, the show includes them all.

Who are the villains Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man sets up?

Here are the villains of the wall-crawler that we meet in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man or the show sets up for the future:

• Symbiotes

The very first Spidey villain established by Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is Venom. While Venom himself isn't confirmed by the show, symbiotes, and Klyntar were confirmed in the first episode "Amazing Fantasy". In the opening moments of the episode, Doctor Strange is fighting a symbiote monster right outside Peter's new school.

In the comics, Symbiotes can boost their host's abilities after bonding with them. In the case of Spider-Man, the symbiote made the wall-crawler even more powerful. But, it also made him more brutal and aggressive, corrupting him. Symbiote's inclusion in the series hints that this universe will need to deal with not just threats that are based on Earth but also otherwise.

• The Lizard

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man introduces Oscorp Scientist Carla Connors who seems nice. But fans who have seen the movies, previous animated shows, or read the comics will know that she is a new spin on Dr. Curtis Connors. Dr. Connors is a good man, who in a bid to regrow his arm injected himself with lizard DNA. It regrew his arm, but also transformed him into a reptilian monster, earning the monicker the "Lizard".

• Lonnie Lincoln

Lonnie in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is introduced as Peter's classmate, friend, and high school athlete who aims to become an NFL player. But he gets embroiled in the 110th Street Gang and his life goes downhill. He even goes on to earn the nickname "Tombstone", which is his monicker in the Spider-Man comics. However, unlike this show, Tombstone in the comics is a vile and dangerous mob boss.

• Doctor Octavius

Doctor Octavius is a Spider-Man villain who can test Peter both physically and intellectually. Octavius is a genius scientist whose body because of a lab accident is fused to mechanical tentacles that were created for industrial use in the comics. In this show, he is selling technologically advanced weapons to criminals like Scorpion. It is also revealed that he and Norman Osborne share a history.

• Green Goblin (Green Goblin)

Unlike the mainline MCU, in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Norman Osborn is Peter Parker's mentor. While it looks like he is yet to undertake the experiment that will ultimately transform into the Green Goblin, Colman Domingo did recently confirm that Norman will eventually transform into the infamous supervillain Green Goblin in the future season. Here's what he said:

"I love the idea of playing Norman Osborn and you'll see his evolution as the Green Goblin in the coming seasons."

Even if he hasn't transformed into the infamous supervillain, the series does hint at his darker nature. While he manages to save Peter when the latter is stabbed by the Scorpion (Mac Gargan), Norman doesn't take responsibility for removing the earpiece for a moment, because of which he was unable to hear Peter's pleas for help.

Apart from these five, the show features several other Spider-Man foes like:

1. Mac Gargan, who goes on to become the supervillain of the Scorpion.
2. Harry Osborn, like his father takes the Green Goblin mantle, after Norman's "death"
3. Dmitri Smerdyakov, will eventually become the supervillain Chameleon. Also, in the comics, he is also Kraven the Hunter's half-brother.
4. Vincent Patilio, Doctor Octavius's assistant is the alter ego of Leapfrog, who was also seen in She-Hulk.
5. Henry Camp, one of the 110th Street Gang members, is a member of Wrecking Crew in the comics.
