Star Wars: Skeleton Crew's latest episode has dropped some major clues pointing toward Jod Na Nawood(Jude Law)'s Jedi connection. He has also been introduced in other avatars throughout the show, namely Crimson Jack and Captain Silvo.
Even though Jod appears as multiple personalities, all have one thing in common - the character's ability to use The Force. He is one of the Jedis from Order 66 who survived. Moreover, other traits of his characters further support his Jedi history.
Jod can control The Force like a true Jedi
The force is an iconic and mysterious energy source that can only be controlled by a true Jedi. Throughout Skeleton Crew, we see Jude Law's Jod Na Nawood controlling the famous space wizard tool.
Though it initially seemed like he was faking its usage, Jod slowly mastered the art of controlling The Force by the final episode. We witness him making small objects float and tapping into lights. This kind of command of The Force can be exercised by only a trained Jedi.
Jod might be related to the old Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn
In Skeleton Crew, we establish a possible link between the Old Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and Jod. This pivotal Jedi reference comes from a conversation between Jod and Wim where the former says - 'Your focus determines your reality.'
Earlier in the prequel film, we see the Jedi Master saying the exact same words to Anakin Skywalker. The direct mention from the episode The Phantom Menace further establishes Jod's Jedi history.
Jod Na Nawood is seen using a weapon that resembles The Lightsaber
The Lightsaber used by Jod in Skeleton Crew episode 5 was initially discovered by Wim from Captain Tak Rennod's vault. Wim tries to defeat Jod in a duel using the iconic weapon but fails as the latter uses The Force to pick it up.
Jod also did not have to think twice before powering up his magical sword - as if he was already familiar with it. So, it becomes clear that he has a Jedi history or at least some connection to them. Fans got to witness this major revelation in Skeleton Crew's final episode.
Moreover, we also see Jod Na Nawood talking about letting go of attachments to focus on returning to the planet. He also tries to persuade Wim to let go of these things just before he quotes Qui-Gon's words. Jod talks about how a young Jedi is taught to give up on all attachments and further confirms having a strong connection to the religious order.
So, if we take a close look at all these, it becomes evident that Jod Na Nawood is definitely a Jedi. He knows his history and has been brought up like a true warrior of the peacekeeping order. Jod also knows how to control the ultimate source of energy (The Force). No matter in whatever avatar he makes an appearance, all of them seem connected by a single thread - his Jedi lineage!
