It’s been a long wait for Euphoria fans as Season 3 of the show, despite being renewed in 2022, has still not hit the screens. The production of Euphoria Season 3 has faced multiple problems, causing the delay. However, fans can rejoice now. Colman Domingo, who plays Ali Muhammad in the teen drama series, has confirmed that the production of Season 3 starts in January 2025. Domingo has also said he will return as Ali.

Colman Domingo told Watch What Happens Live:

“I will be returning to Season 3 of Euphoria.”

As far as filming of the show was concerned, he added it would...

“get started early next year.”

Domingo's assertion has been confirmed by Francesca Orsi, head of HBO drama series and EVP of HBO programming. Orsi said:

“I am thrilled that we are ready to begin production on Euphoria in January. We could not be happier with our creative partnership with Sam and this incredible cast. We look forward to bringing this new season of Euphoria to life for the fans.”

It has also been confirmed by HBO that Euphoria Season 3 will see the return of the main cast. Let us now explore all the details available about the season including what Colman Domingo has to say about it.

What did Colman Domingo say about Euphoria Season 3?

Colman Domingo, one of the major cast members of Euphoria, will move on with his directorial debut project Scandalous! that also stars Sydney Sweeney. Regarding his project and wrapping Euphoria, Colman told Deadline:

“Our goal is to shoot it right after we’re both done with Euphoria, so hopefully I’ll go into prep right after that next year, probably in the third quarter of next year, and then hopefully we’ll make a beautiful, sweet film that’s really about the possibility of love, but under many eyes, trying to have privacy, trying to have love, trying to have a life. And I think it’s something that Sydney and I both know very well. We’re trying to advocate for your humanity again in your life.”

Sweeney, besides starring in the film along with David Jonsson, will serve as a producer, too.

Who is in the cast of Euphoria Season 3?

Storm Reid, who plays the role of Gia in Euphoria, confirmed in November 2024 that she would not be returning for the third season, saying:

"Unfortunately, Gia's not returning to the third season, but I am so, so indebted to the cast and the crew of that show, to HBO."

Another principal cast member, Barbie Ferreira, won't return, too. This was confirmed by HBO after she announced her exit from the show in 2022. In an Instagram post, Ferreira said:

"After four years of getting to embody the most special and enigmatic character Kat, I'm having to say a very teary-eyed goodbye. I hope many of you could see yourself in her like I did and that she brought you joy to see her journey into the character she is today. I put all my care and love into her and I hope you guys could feel it. Love you Katherine Hernandez."

Besides these two, Angus Cloud, another series regular who played Fez in Euphoria Season 1 and 2, breathed his last on July 31, 2023.

The cast members who will return include:

  • Zendaya as Rue Bennett
  • Alexa Demie as Maddy Perez
  • Colman Domingo as Ali
  • Sydney Sweeney as Cassie Howard
  • Jacob Elordi as Nate Jacobs
  • Hunter Schafer as Jules Vaughn
  • Maude Apatow as Lexi Howard
  • Eric Dane as Cal Jacobs

Euphoria Season 1 and 2 can be streamed on HBO, and Season 3 will probably drop in 2026, as confirmed by HBO.
