Cooper held an espresso mug in hand, looked right at the camera, and claimed there was no place like Rome. Without wasting a moment, she took a sip of the mug, which had the show's name in front, and revealed the number 5 below: Season 5 is coming!

Here's what could happen in Emily in Paris Season 5
1) A love triangle between Emily, Marcello, and Gabriel
In Emily in Paris Season 4 Part 2, Sylvie had Emily travel to Rome for work to woo the head of Umberto Muratori in Italy. This was fitting since she’d just dumped Gabriel for leaving her alone on a mountain for Camille. Little did she know she and a handsome Italian stranger from the Alps would cross paths again.
To Emily’s surprise, Marcello’s (the stranger) mother owns the company she’s trying to win over. Apart from business, the duo had insane chemistry. With Gabriel and Emily broken up, she decides to pursue a romantic relationship with Marcello. Season 4 ended with the 2 sharing a sweet kiss, cementing their relationship.
Emily is so blissfully unaware of Gabriel, who’s probably already en route to Italy, desperate to win her back (and still in love with her). This isn’t unchartered territory for Emily, but with two men after her heart - who will she ultimately pick? Could it be she’d choose to be single, or will a happily ever be decided with someone’s heartbroken?
2) The end of Sylvie and Laurent's love story
It wasn’t just Emily who found love and heartbreak in season 4 of Emily in Paris. Her boss, Sylvie, also has an almost equally complicated love life. Sylvie is estranged from her husband, Laurent, whom she remains legally betrothed to. They’ve been through several breakups even in their married life.
However, during the fourth installment of the Netflix drama, she wanted more commitment from Laurent (who wanted an open relationship). While Laurent might be willing to compromise, things are a little more complex with Sylvie’s affair with Antoine Lambert.
There are several red flags with both men, but with Laurent, it’s different since they’ve been in an on-and-off relationship for years. It’s one of the primary reasons they’ve not divorced.
It appears they would take their curtain call in season 5 of Emily in Paris, especially since Sylvie has been meaning to tell him the truth, and she’s been having second thoughts about them.
3) Mindy finally gets Eurovision!
Fans have been desperately waiting for Mindy to accomplish her Eurovision dream since she mentioned it in season 1 of Emily in Paris. It’s been 4 seasons and several episodes, and we’ve still not seen Eurovision become a reality. Perhaps 5th time’s a charm for Mindy!
Season 4 saw Mindy endure a devastating heartbreak from Nico - her now ex-beau who was self-centered and only cared about his image in public. After-breakup, Nico decides to use his ex’s song meant for Eurovision as an advertisement. This shattered Mindy, who decides to head over to Rome to refresh on her life with Emily.
During a casual outing in Rome, Mindy takes center stage in the bustling city of Italy, dazzling strangers with her voice. Her rendition of “Beautiful Ruins” broke the internet (in the show and real life with fans) thanks to the videos passersby posted online.
With her voice going viral, could it be that she’ll finally be contacted for Eurovision and live her dream in season 5? Well, only time can tell us this!
4) More of Luc and Julien's storyline explored
Luc and Julien might’ve been in cahoots with Emily during the early days of Emily in Paris. They quickly grew to be her closest confidantes as colleagues and friends. They’d often tease Emily for numerous reasons, but their snarky remarks, in a way, grew on fans galore.
However, season 4 hardly saw much of the iconic duo, especially since they’re essential to Emily’s life and the plot! Season 4 saw a major plot twist with Julien: he leaves Agence Grateau and works at JVMA only to realize his love for the company is far greater and better.
Luc, on the other hand, had to deal with the aftermath of Julien’s decision and almost burnt himself out. While they aren’t often in the limelight, their presence on screen is undoubtedly entertaining.
Hopefully, fans will see a lot more of them now that Emily’s in Rome. They might return to mock Emily for the many things she may have done wrong or just be there for her as she navigates life in a new country.
5) The timeline from Paris to Rome explained
The one thing that fans and viewers of the show desire the utmost clarity about is the timeline of Emily in Paris over the years. The series has flaunted several breathtaking scenes from the very beginning.
Whether it was the Eiffel Tower or the French Alps, with destination, the seasons have changed, leaving some viewers online perplexed about the timeline: Do all 10 episodes of the series take place over an entire year or a few weeks or months?
Thus far, the show has remained crystal clear about sticking with the flow of the story and has ensured that season 4 follows a timeline fans could follow. But perhaps, after taking into account the concerns of some fans, we may get a solid confirmation about the duration of events in season 5 of Emily in Paris.
