1) Emily and Gabriel's relationship falls apart
Fans waited for almost three seasons to see Emily and Gabriel as a happy couple, and Emily in Paris Season 4 seemed the perfect timing for that to happen. Following her way back from the airport, Camille's father invited Emily to celebrate Christmas in Megève.
While she is capturing the moment in Megève, Camille's brother Timothée warns Emily about her worth. He told her that she'll forever remain Gabriel's mistress, as he's going to have a family with Camille.
Emily is tensed, but Gabriel and Camille take her skiing in the French Alps, knowing that she doesn't know how to ski. Gabriel promises Emily to stay by her side the whole time, but fails at the end. He took off to the Alps with Camille, leaving Emily alone as she struggled with the heavy snow.
2) Marcello Muratori comes to Emily's rescue at the French Alps
The latest season welcomed Eugenio Franceschini in the role of Marcello Muratori, the Italian love interest of Emily Cooper. Since Emily is lying down in the snow, struggling to find escape, Marcello stops by her and offers help.
Marcello takes Cooper down the mountain where she confronts Gabriel and reveals her frustration over being her boyfriend's minor priority. She's tired of being overshadowed by Camille, and in the heat of the moment, Emily breaks things off and goes back to Paris.
3) Emily's new romance with Marcello in Rome
Emily's new romance with the Italian guy Marcello Murtaori takes center stage from episode eight titled Back to the Crazy Horse, when Emily crosses paths with Marcello at a horse race.
Thanks to Mindy. who took Emily to the horse race and surprisingly reunited Emily with Marcello. The two were quick to like each other at the horse race, followed by Marcello inviting Emily to Rome.
After Marcello's constant texts, Emily finally decides for a vacation to Rome. Meanwhile, Gabriel is struggling with his feelings for Emily amid Genevieve trying to pursue a relationship with him.
Emily's vacation in Rome with Marcello is interrupted by Sylvie, as she has been finding ways to set a business meeting with the Muratori family. After initial tension between the new couple, Emily and Marcello finally decide to spend time before Cooper heads back to Paris.
4) Emily moved to Rome while Gabriel wants to win her back
In the last episode titled All Roads Lead to Rome, Emily along with the viewers are surprised to watch Sylvie announcing a new Agence Grateau office in Rome. This comes after Sylvie and her team convinced the Muratoris to make a business deal, as Marcello's company had been facing a capital shortage.
Sylvie arranged a temporary apartment for Emily in Rome, allowing her to give Marcello a chance to continue their romantic relationship. However, Gabriel was struggling with his feelings for Emily, until Alfie encouraged him to win her back.
While Cooper is enjoying a new relationship with Marcello Muratori in Rome, Gabriel is eager to rekindle his love with Emily. The season ends with Gabriel asking Mindy about Emily's address in Rome, when she's out with Marcello, enjoying her time in Rome.
Will Emily get back with Gabriel in Emily in Paris Season 5?
Though Emily in Paris Season 5 isn't confirmed yet, the series creator Darren Star talked about his show's future in an interview with Deadline. He said that "the show has a life beyond next season" and won't end until the right time.
So, if the makers decide to go beyond season 4, fans will be able to see who Emily chose in the end. While she's with Marcello in season 4, it could be Gabriel's chance in the next chapter. After all, Emily's life in Paris is filled with twists and turns, always leaving her to choose between two men.

1) Mindy Chen
Mindy and Nicolas' love relationship in Emily in Paris felt perfect until the JVMA executive sabotaged her Eurovision dream. Mindy gave it all to arrange the funds for the contest, but Nicolas' obsession with becoming the CEO of his father's company JVMA destroyed her dream.
However, season 4 featured an impressive character growth of Mindy, as she confronts Nicolas and is the one who broke things off. She knows her worth and won't spend time with a man who's insecure about her ambition and dreams.
2) Sylvie
As expected, Sylvie doesn't leave a chance to take revenge on her husband after discovering that Laurent started seeing Genevieve's mother. She did give Genevieve a job at Agence Grateau, but made sure that her efforts were not wasted.
In the end, Sylvie spent an amazing time in Rome with her former lover and was able to make a deal with the Muratoris, known for crafting fine cashmere.
3) Alfie
Many speculated that Alfie wouldn't appear in Part 2 as he decided to keep away from Emily.
However, he surprised Emily by sharing that he now has a girlfriend and is serious about her. Alfie was able to sort his feelings by distancing himself from Emily and had a smaller role in the second part.
4) Camille
Camille made a negative impact on the viewers at the end of part one, as it was believed that she would use her fake pregnancy to win Gabriel back.
However, in the end, Camille reveals the truth and decides to adopt a child and live a peaceful life without Gabriel.
