Top Chef Season 22 cast member Kat Turner is an executive chef and partner of Highly Likely in Los Angeles as per her Bravo bio. She is also known for her acting and burlesque dance career which she left to attend Natural Gourmet Institute in New York to switch career paths.
During the premiere episode of Top Chef Season 22, Kat struggled due to the limited time during the elimination challenge. The dishes weren't prepared fully by that time and Kat was one of the contestants who went into the bottom two. Viewers could sense Kat might just get eliminated from the show however, she managed to impress the judges twice in episode 2.
In episode 2, Kat addressed her previous performance stating she was "glad" that the last week was "behind" her. Despite being "embarrassed" about landing in the bottom two last week, the Top Chef star was "grateful" to get another chance in the competition, she said:
“I’m really glad that last week is behind me. I’m equal parts embarrassed and grateful. Getting another chance to prove myself is probably the biggest reward I’ve gotten from a mistake in a long time.”
Top Chef Season 22 Episode 2, titled Brunch à la Boulud, was released exclusively on Bravo TV on March 20, 2025. The episode synopsis reads as follows:
"Actor Sarah Levy joins Kristen and Gail for the Quickfire Challenge, tasking the chefs to put their spin on Canada's famous poutine; for the Elimination Challenge, Daniel Boulud joins the judges' table as the chefs team up to create a brunch."
Top Chef season 22 star Kat Turner impressed judges in this week's challenge
In the newly released Top Chef season 22 episode 4, Kat had the opportunity to showcase her skills better in the quickfire challenge. The main task for each chef was to prepare their version of poutine from scratch. Kat decided to include potato, mushroom gravy, soy, and cheese in her dish.
By adding her flavor and twist to the dish, Kat was able to secure a position among the top three dishes after the challenge. Even though Shuai was declared the winner of the challenge and received a $5,000 prize, Kat's performance showed major improvement since last week's episode aired.
Later in the Top Chef episode, when it was time for the chefs to be divided into two teams, green and brown, Kat joined the green team. This time the teams had to prepare a seven-course brunch and use maple as their key ingredient in each dish.
Kat had presented congee with maple bacon chili crisp to the judges who were impressed by the balanced flavor and how maple was used in the dish. Despite the green team not winning the $35,000, viewers were glad to see Kat in her element.
The upcoming episodes will showcase more of Kat's journey on the show as the competition becomes more difficult. New episodes of season 22 air every week on Thursdays at 9/8c exclusively on Bravo TV and the next day on Peacock TV.
