The exciting news for Marvel fans, including those who had no qualms about trashing the series after they saw a trailer of it, is that the first reviews for Agatha All Along have been exciting. It is a spin-off from the hit WandaVision, the series that follows the story of Agatha Harkness played by Kathryn Hahn.

Since the trailer drop, fans (whom some call "dudebros" within the community) have been skeptical and even harsh to this point, thinking the show will flop. Now that some of the early reviews are coming in, though, it seems people do like the show: much the opposite of negative whispers leading up to the release.

"The dudebros secretly gagging at Agatha All Along when it drops after seeing all the positive reviews & trashing it since the trailer dropped," wrote a fan.

Fans nod to the fact that the critics may have to backstep on negative comments. They're hitting up X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate the early praise the show is getting and have a laugh at the expense of those who first judged it.

Here are some of the best reactions showing how fans are feeling as Agatha All Along prepares to launch on Disney+.

One said: "Marvel dudes seeing all the positive reviews for #AgathaAllAlong after spending 2 months saying that it's gonna be 'trash'."
Another shared "They’re not going to care. They know there’s a group of anti-woke fans that need validation. Hating this show because 'woke.'"

In a more subdued approach, however, this fan speculates some viewers out there cannot get behind Agatha All Along because it's too "woke.". For the sake of clinging to their negative opinions, these people may dig out arguments that back up their dislike of politicized storytelling.

A third fan chimed in: "Only fools were saying that to be fair. It’s gonna rock.

This fan keeps it real and brushes off the negativity, saying that only a tiny, confused part of the fandom was ever really critical.

"I mean it's not like they're actually going to admit they were wrong," pointed out yet another fan.

The backlash and triumph of Agatha All Along

The buzz that came about Agatha All Along earlier shows that the negativity before its release wasn't surprising. Nowadays, with social media, it's common for certain fan groups to jump to strong conclusions from trailers or even casting news.

Much criticism appears to arise from burnout over the size of the Marvel universe or the idea that the show is trying to force progressive narratives. Maybe even some "anti-woke" sorts targeted Agatha as a particular cause before it premiered.

But then again, the larger Marvel fanbase enjoys how these negative reactions can be turned on a dime. As good reviews start coming in before the series drops, it may become another Marvel hit that stands tall over initial hatred.

Why Agatha All Along could be a hit

One reason people may love Agatha All Along could be its concept. It combines dark comedy with fantasy and witchcraft, a refreshing angle from the usual superhero stuff within the MCU.

Kathryn Hahn played the role of Agatha Harkness in WandaVision. Now, they made a spin-off just for her so Marvel is finally ready to explore stories with such elaborate characters.

With an interesting plot and a cast that includes Aubrey Plaza and Patti LuPone, this series seems to have the ingredients to be one of the standouts in the MCU. Fans who appreciate deeper characters and storytelling might find it to be one of the most exciting projects Marvel has had.

Agatha All Along will hit Disney+ on September 18, 2024. Episodes one and two will drop that day. Subsequent episodes then will trickle out weekly.
